Penny Dai released a new album "Passive Audience" last year after 6 years, which was nominated for three nominations for this year's Freshmusic Awrads, and was also shortlisted for the 34th Golden Melody Awards for Best Female Singer and Best Composition, a few days ago she was interviewed by Singapore music media Freshmusic in depth, talking about the heart of 23 years of debut, from a competition provoked by her brother to participate, and then became the starting point of stepping on the music scene, she laughed and said: "At that time, I was just in the mood to sing and watch, I didn't expect to come to this day, and it's very dramatic in retrospect."

She released her debut album "PENNY" in 2000, and was successfully shortlisted for the Golden Melody Award for Best Newcomer the following year, and Jay Chou, Sun Yanzi, Fan Weiqi, Lin Fan, are still the most discussed session, remembering standing on the stage of the ceremony, Penny Dai is still impressed: "I have a feeling of being out of my body at the moment, and I don't know what my heartbeat rate is." I saw a self who had just sprouted and did not have confidence being placed in a strong lineup, although he did not win an award, but it didn't matter, it was like a small bud that had just been planted, so I had to push myself to work harder and move forward step by step."
Penny Dai's creative talent shifted from music to video, and under the encouragement of the project, she decided to try to be a MV director, including her own songs, and also took charge of Jiang Hui, Xiao Jingteng, Xiao Yu, and was nominated for the Best MV of the Golden Melody Award at the same time with Fang Datong's "Black and White" and Fang Yongyong's "Wind", she laughed and had a lot of fate with the surname Fang, and even said that she was lucky that she didn't win the award, thinking that she why, "It's really charming to be able to create a second creation for music, but shooting the MV is too physically exhausting and time-consuming, and I didn't say that the golden basin washes its hands or closes the mountain, I'll fade out slowly."
Last year's release of the new work "Passive Audience", which has been in the past 6 years, was praised by fans as "feeling like returning to the early days of Penny Dai", she said: "Because of the epidemic, all homework was forced to be suspended and could only be done online, but familiar with the tacit understanding of the team, even if I made music in a very lonely way, everything was still full of security, and the process was very smooth." In addition to letting everyone hear Penny Dai, who debuted that year, the new album also injected "love yourself" into her creation in recent years, "The last thing I can do in my life is to love myself, so learn and heal myself through creation."
