The royal family will arrive in a carriage, where King Carl XVI Gustav of Sweden will address Sweden, raise the flag and play the national anthem. The stage will bring together a number of artists, including Grammy Award winners Magnus Lindgren, Sven-Ingvars, Hanna Husáhr and Joachim Bäckström, with the choir Children singing with students from the Husbygårdsskolan and Adolf Fredrik music classes. The story behind Sweden's National Day

In 1893, the celebration of Swedish National Day or Swedish Flag Day began precisely in Skansen. Skansen's founder, Artur Hazelius, wanted to create a festival that would unite the nation and chose June 6. On that day in 1523, Gustav Vasa was proclaimed king, and on June 6, 1809, the form of government of the time was established.

June 6 is an unofficial national day that was not designated as Swedish Flag Day until 1916. It wasn't until 1983 that the day officially became Sweden's national day and in 2005 it became an official holiday.
