Yellow-banded poison dart frog, a suborder of anurans in the suborder Poison dart frogs. Mainly distributed in the inland areas of Venezuela, Colombia and Brazil, living in high humidity and hot rainforest areas at altitudes of 50-800 meters, often burrowing into the forest bed to hide under the fallen leaves. This species is the only poison dart frog species that has a summer hibernation habit during the dry season. The body length is 2.5-4 cm, and the yellow-banded poison dart frog in different distribution areas has certain differences in the yellow markings on the body.

They are relatively large and robust species, mainly active on the ground, and have a gentle and lively personality. Females are larger and obese. For oviparous animals, the number of eggs laid is 2-12, and the incubation period takes more than 18 days.
