Coffee estate.

Today I will take you to visit Costa Rica Doka Coffee Estate, one of the most famous coffee estates here, and come to the estate with the tourist bus in the morning. It has a long history and has a complete business chain of coffee bean cultivation, processing, sales and export. The tour guide said: The estate provides a very local breakfast, but I want to say that this breakfast is exactly the same as what I ate in the hotel, it has been eaten for 5 consecutive days, and it is not delicious.

Costa Rica was the first country in South America to grow coffee, and from here it spread to Brazil to Colombia and then to various parts of South America. Coffee trees of Arabica varieties are grown here, and a worker can collect a full pot of coffee cherries in 40 minutes and take them to the processing workshop for $3.

Here workers put coffee cherries into the deep air filled with water, high-quality coffee cherries will sink, and inferior coffee cherries will float on the water, so that coffee cherries are divided into upper, middle and lower grades.

Next, the first step of processing is to separate the core of the coffee cherry, that is, the coffee bean and the peel, through a green machine. Soak the peeled coffee beans in the sink for 20 hours, remove the sugar from the beans, and then dry them outside for 5 days. Then put the naturally dried coffee beans into the machine in front of you for heating and roasting, and here the coffee beans are basically processed. The top beans are exported to North America and Australia, the intermediate beans are sold to chain coffee brands, and the lowest beans are sold in Costa Rica.

Here the tour guide shared an interesting thing, that is, chain coffee brands such as Starbucks. Their coffee does not come from a single origin, but is harvested from all over the world, blended and roasted again, so that the beans from different origins can eventually maintain the same taste.

After listening to this, do you still want to drink Starbucks?
