Titanohyrax

It is an extinct ungulated rabbit that lived in North Africa from the Eocene to the Oligocene.

Fossils of the Titan Hoated Rabbit, specimens found in modern Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Libya. Some species, such as T. ultimus, are estimated to be as large as modern rhinos. Due to the rarity in the fossil record, the Titanohyrax species is still poorly understood.

Its fossilized teeth prove that they were leaf-eating animals.

The genus was first described by an Egyptian scholar in 1922, describing it as "an extremely massive species, the largest of all the hyrax known to date" – estimated to weigh between 600 kg and 1,300 kg.

So now you can understand why hoofed rabbits and rabbits are not related to half a dime, but to elephants, manatees and other giant beasts!
