The peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan, chaired by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, only progress was made after four days of arduous discussions, and no peace agreement was reached.
In the communiqué issued, it said: After a series of intensive and constructive bilateral and trilateral discussions, all parties have made significant progress in resolving difficult issues. Both sides have demonstrated a sincere commitment to normalizing relations and ending the long-standing conflict between the two countries.
Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed in principle to certain conditions and gained a better understanding of each other's positions on outstanding issues.
Blinken suggested that ministers return to their capitals and share with their respective governments the idea that with more goodwill, flexibility and compromise, a deal can be reached. They will continue to have the full support and engagement of the United States in their efforts to ensure a lasting and sustainable peace.
