Discover Egyptian food culture: learn to make the tradition (Koshari) Kusha

Koshari is a traditional dish popular in Egypt that is said to have originated during British colonial rule in the 19th century. At that time, workers from India mixed rice, noodles and beans to serve as their lunch.

Over time, this blend of cuisine began to become popular in Egypt. It was a cheap, easy to make and filling food, so during Egypt's difficult economic times, Kusha became a staple food for many.

Over time, Kushab became more and more popular, and people began to add more ingredients such as ketchup, onions, chili sauce, and garlic paste to add flavor. Now, Kushah has become one of Egypt's iconic foods, an integral part of street food and restaurant menus.

Kusha is a simple yet delicious Egyptian street food made from a mixture of ingredients such as rice, noodles, fried beans, and ketchup. Here are the steps to make Kusha:

Required materials:

- 1 bowl of rice

- 1 bowl of noodles (spaghetti or thin noodles)

- 1 can of fried beans (chickpeas or black beans)

- 2 onions

- 1 can of tomato paste

- Chili sauce and garlic paste (added according to personal taste)

-olive oil

- Salt and pepper

Production steps:

1. Put 1 bowl of rice in a pot and add water and cook until the rice is soft and rotten. Once cooked, remove and place in a large bowl for later use.

2. In another pot, cook 1 cup of small noodles until tender and rotten. Once cooked, remove and place in a bowl next to the rice.

3. In a saucepan, sauté the onion with 1 tablespoon of olive oil until the onion is tender and slightly browned. Then add 1 can of fried beans and continue to sauté for a few minutes.

4. Combine the fried beans and onion into the rice and noodles and stir well.

5. In the same saucepan, sauté another onion with 1 tablespoon of olive oil until the onion is tender and slightly browned. Then add 1 can of tomato sauce and salt and pepper to taste and boil for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.

6. Pour the cooked tomato sauce over the rice, noodles and fried beans.

7. Finally, add the chili sauce and garlic paste according to personal taste and stir well.

Kusha is a great home cooking, especially when ingredients and time are lacking, but it's also a nutritious and delicious food.
