In May 2019, Lu Shulu, the producer and chief producer, invited me and director Li Yaodong to go to Nanwang Town, Wenshang County, Jining City, Shandong Province, to collect wind on the spot. Here, I felt the profound cultural heritage of the hometown of Confucius and Meng, also learned about the historical origin of the Grand Canal in Nanwang Town, and experienced the local villagers living a better life. Therefore, reflecting the civilization construction of the new countryside and improving the economic and cultural life of the villagers is my original intention in creating this script. Zheng Guangchun, the screenwriter of the film, told everyone about the deep feelings in the film's creative style.
