We habitually regard the blossom of spring as a sign of the arrival of spring, but in the magic capital where I live, the spring flowers that welcome spring are not seen, but they are wild and springy everywhere.
Wild Spring
Wild Spring is not a wild spring flower, it is a sister of the same family as the familiar spring flower. A common feature of them is that they all produce golden yellow flowers, and the shape of the flowers is very similar. And both are in full bloom in spring, hence the name Yingchun.

As we all know, the spring flower is named because it blooms first among the flowers, and then ushers in the spring when a hundred flowers bloom.
In the eyes of the ancients, wild spring and spring flowers are similar, and both can be called spring flowers. The difference is that spring flowers grow in the north and are deciduous shrubs; Wild spring is a southern plant, evergreen in winter and summer.

Yingchunhua is native to the subtropical regions of southern and southwestern China, and the northern part of the mainland is mainly distributed in North China, Liaoning, Shaanxi, Shandong, Sichuan, northwestern Yunnan, southeastern Tibet and other places (generally speaking, it is mainly distributed in the Yellow River Basin to the north and southwest of the Yangtze River).
Ye Yingchun is also native to China, and is now mainly distributed in southwest Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and other places in China (simply put, mainly distributed in the Yangtze River basin and south of the region).

Springflower and wild spring, both shrubs of the genus Frangipani of the family Xylariaceae and are also widely cultivated in China, are very similar, but there are also certain differences:
1. Spring flowers are deciduous shrubs, flowers first and then leaves, and there are no leaves in full bloom. Wild spring is an evergreen shrub with green leaves during the flowering period (relatively speaking, the leaves are not particularly good in winter, and sometimes the branches are pruned in winter, but the leaves can be seen in winter can basically be judged to be wild spring).
2. The flower tube of the spring flower is long, and the flower tube of the wild spring (Yunnan Huangxin) is relatively short.

3. In terms of flowering period, the spring flower will bloom earlier than the wild spring flower. Spring flowers in Xi'an bloom from late February to March, earlier than plum blossoms in the same area. The flowering period of wild spring in Xi'an is often early April, about a month later than the spring flowers, and obviously later than the plum blossoms.
But this is not absolute, for example, in Shanghai, Ye Yingchun begins to bloom sporadically around December, but the number of flowers is very small, and the peak bloom is in early April.
4. Spring flowers bloom first and then grow leaves, and there is a dazzling golden landscape during the blooming period. And wild spring is the simultaneous appearance of flowers and leaves, green leaves and yellow flowers, more delicate.

5. Spring flowers are generally single-petaled flowers, the flowers are small and delicate, and the petals look relatively thin. And our common wild spring is semi-double petals (that is, the number of petals is a little more, but no more than two rounds), the flowers are larger than the spring flowers, and the petals are thicker to the touch.

6. Spring flowers are native to the northern and central provinces of the mainland, and are cultivated very commonly in North China, so they are also known as "Northern Spring Greeting". Yunnan Huangxin is wild to welcome spring, native to the subtropical regions of southern and southwestern China of the mainland, cultivated in the south is extremely common, customary to call "southern spring greeting".
But there are no absolutes in the matter of plant identification, they are all comparative. Different plant growth environments and temperature conditions will also cause many individual differences.
