Brownie jumped his 1.98m tall brother Bryce to complete a one-handed dunk in the first dunk in the final, and the referee gave 63 points. The second buckle attempt to change hands under the crotch of the bottom line jumping failed to buckle. He then switched to a crotch dunk after receiving the ball and was unsuccessful, eventually scoring only 47 points and finishing second in the Slam Dunk Contest. Sean Stewart won the championship.

James won the McDonald's All-Star Slam Dunk Contest in 2003.
