On March 25, Li Jiahui from Hong Kong, representing UCCC Emirates Chinese Cycling Club, stood on the top podium of the UAE amateur triathlon TRI-WARS, which is also the highest honor won by Chinese in the UAE in the UAE amateur competition.
Li Jiahui has been living in Dubai for 5 years and currently works at Samsung on environmentally friendly energy projects. She said that the atmosphere of the competition in the UAE is good, everyone supports each other and has a strong sense of community. Through this competition, you can also understand your strengths and weaknesses and prepare for the next big competition.
"Although it was a small competition in the UAE, it was my first triathlon of the year. I've been training for running for the past four months and have only recently resumed triathlon. Take this mini-tournament to revisit the steps of triathlon, after all, triathlon requires a lot of equipment and skill to change. Li Jiahui said.
Winning was no accident for Li Jiahui, who insisted on two training sessions a day, before work in the morning and again after work. Each program will practice 4-5 sessions per week. There are about 15 hours of training every Monday, and the amount of training is increased in preparation for the competition.
When asked why she chose triathlon, she said, "Triathlon has a rich variety of fun and a spirit of self-challenge. I have a background in running, but I didn't start swimming until I was 28. In the process of learning to swim hard, I learned the value of perseverance and endurance. ”
This year, Li Ka Hui will also prepare for the first big iron event and several semi-iron events. Hopefully, she will continue to achieve great results.
