In the 15th minute, Yuranovic took the ball from the right, Livaya returned from the point, Kovacic was on the outside of his foot, Kramaric met the ball with a volley, and goalkeeper Ward made a wonderful save.
In the 24th minute, Brozovic quickly took a free-kick and Perisic won the ball and cut inside into the far corner, the ball went over the crossbar.
In the 26th minute, Modric took the ball from the right, Welsh goalkeeper Ward knocked the ball out, Livaia scrambled back, and Perisic bounced sideways into the net! However, due to Livaia's foul first, referee Pinheiro invalidated the penalty.
Croatia finally broke the deadlock in the 28th minute when Kramaric pierced Williams and then scored with a shot from the outside of his foot.
In the 35th minute, Perisic headed back and Modric followed up with a shot that went slightly over the crossbar.
In the 42nd minute, Guevardior was fouled at the edge of the box. Referee Pinheiro awarded Wales a free-kick in front and Wilson curved the ball high!
In the 52nd minute, Dalic adjusted the central forward position, and Moussa replaced the inactive Livaia.
In the 60th minute, Wales came close to equalising, Ramsey knocked back, Wilson rubbed his left foot back and James kicked wide unguarded.
In the 65th minute, Sousa crossed straight and Perisic crossed the box and Moussa volleyed with his right foot, which was touched off the line by the opponent's defender.
In the 82nd minute, Modric took the ball from the right and Perisic volleyed from a small angle, and the ball hit the crossbar and popped off.
In the final minute of injury time, Broadhead pushed into the net.
