Plantations usher in a fruitful "spring harvest"

Purple-red mulberries, or long as hair, or round as balls, gently plucked by the fingers, dripping purple sweet juice. In Zhuhai Taichuang Park, about 200 acres of mulberries ripen one after another, and every weekend, citizens and tourists flock to pick and taste them.

Lan Wencheng, technical director of the garden, introduced, "The mulberries planted in the garden include two varieties of Taiwan long mulberry and Cantonese short mulberry, the Taiwan long mulberry fruit is long and thin, the taste is very sweet, and the fruit can be picked when it is pink; Cantonese short mulberry fruit is relatively fat, and the taste is sweet and sour. ”

On the other side of the orchard, dates hanging from the branches are larger than eggs and shaped like green apples. You can hear a crisp sound in one bite, the flesh is white and juicy, and the taste is sweet. Lan Wencheng introduced, "Jujube is currently the most popular picking product, and the picking period is expected to last until the end of the month. ”

It is understood that at present, the main fruits in Taichuang Park are mulberries and green dates, of which the planting area of green dates is nearly 400 mu, and the mu output can reach 6,000 jin; The mulberry planting area is about 200 acres, and the mu output can reach 5,000 jin.

The same harvest scene also appeared in Zhuozhi Orchard in Pingtang Community of Pingsha Town. In order to better entertain tourists, the orchard has set aside dozens of acres of guava (also known as "ballet") fruit groves for tourists to pick and experience. "It's the best time of year for Ballet, with more than 1,000 visitors visiting the park in the past month." Huang Zhuosi, the person in charge of Zhuozhi Orchard, said.

Diversification expands agricultural "money"

Pingsha Town has long been known for growing fruits and other crops, and the relatively single crop structure is not conducive to soil fertility maintenance and the improvement of agricultural product quality. Planting lotus root is also an attempt to promote the diversified development of ecological agriculture in Pingsha Town.

In the Jinglin Agricultural Park, the perfume lotus flowers in the pond, purple, yellow and red are staggered, and the fragrance is fragrant. As far as the eye can see, the spring color of the pond comes into view.

The person in charge of Jinglin Agriculture introduced that in recent years, the enterprise has been engaged in the lotus root planting industry, and last year, Jinglin Agriculture planted nearly 500 mu of lotus root, harvesting more than 1.5 million jin, adding new brand agricultural products to the local area. Jinglin Agriculture has been awarded the "vegetable basket" production and supply base in Zhuhai by the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs for two consecutive years.

Since the beginning of this year, the park has reduced part of the lotus root planting area to carry out land interval rest in the park, so that the land can restore fertility and carry out agricultural development in a more diversified way, and perfume lotus is such an attempt.

Today, lotus flowers paint a new beauty of the countryside, attracting many tourists to take photos. According to the plan, Jinglin Agriculture will plant some crops such as rice this year, and realize a better agricultural "money" situation through diversified agricultural development.
