At 5:30 p.m. on March 23, 2016, police in Santa Barbara, USA, arrived at the mansion at 4640 GreenHill Street.
Located in California, close to the Pacific Ocean, Santa Barbara, USA, is known as "one of the best research schools in the world", it has history, art, natural society, coastal railroad and other museums, and has 4 bookstores with a collection of more than 100,000 books.
With an average home price of $960,000, the city is one of the best places to live for wealthy Americans, and it's also a gastronomic city with chefs of great skill.
Some people reported that Han Weidong, a Chinese Chinese doctor living in the mansion, did not attend the seminar today, and the informant said that Han Weidong was never absent temporarily, and they could not contact Han Weidong and his family, thinking that something might be wrong with him.
Han Weidong is a well-known Chinese medicine practitioner in Santa Barbara County, USA, where many people have been treated by him, and is one of the best doctors in everyone's mind, he combines Chinese medicine and Western medicine, and has published related medical books.
After the seminar, friends came to Han Weidong's house to find someone, strangely, the front door was open, but after ringing the doorbell for a long time, no one came to open it, and there was a car parked in the yard, so they notified the police.
Looking for Han Weidong
The local police were surprised by this statement, believing that Han Weidong may have had something temporary and forgot to notify his friends, and the mobile phone was silent, resulting in not answering the call in time, and the door was forgotten to close.
Han Weidong's friend always insisted on his own ideas, he thought that Han Weidong had an accident, and hoped that the police could enter the house to find Han Weidong.
But in the United States, there is no search warrant, and the police cannot enter the house at will, so the police officer who came to deal with the case had to return to the bureau to apply. After deliberating, the local police agreed to enter Han Weidong's mansion to look for them.
On March 24, the police entered the courtyard, they originally thought that nothing happened, until when passing the garage, they noticed the white package in the middle of the vehicle, which was very abrupt, how could Han Weidong casually put the white package in the garage?
The police officer who searched instantly lifted his spirits, this white package looked very strange, the person was tightly wrapped with layer after layer of tape, and it looked like a person. The police did not dare to go over easily, fearing that they would destroy the first crime scene.
The police pulled up a cordon outside, opened the white package with scissors, and inside was a female corpse, and the police called Han Weidong's friend to let him identify, and the friend said that it was Han Weidong's wife Yu Huijie.
After entering the garage, local police found a large and small white bag on the side of the car against the wall, which was identified as the missing Han Weidong and his 5-year-old daughter.
The three people were shot several times, Han Weidong's daughter was bloodstained, and the police handed over the three bodies to the forensic doctor for autopsy, hoping to find the clues left by the murderer.
The news of Han Weidong, a Chinese Chinese doctor, who had been shot and killed spread throughout the city, and the people he treated were very angry, Han Weidong not only had extraordinary medical skills, but also treated patients with different economic conditions equally, and sometimes even generously did not accept medical fees.
Why was such a doctor shot? What grudge does the murderer have with him? Even his wife and children are not willing to let go?
According to media reports, Mr. Han, one of the founders of the Santa Barbara Herbal Clinic in the United States, bought the clinic in 1991 to treat patients using acupuncture and other Chinese remedies from traditional Chinese medicine.
Han Weidong himself is a small name in the medical field, he was born into a traditional medical family on the mainland, received a degree in Western and Oriental medicine from a university in Beijing in 1982, and later moved to the United States to study psychology.
For 25 years, from 1991 to 2016, he specialized in cancer and Parkinson's, developed a treatment plan, and treated several cancer patients at this Santa Barbara herbal clinic, known as a blessing for local cancer patients.
Parkinson's disease, also known as tremor paralysis, is more common in the elderly and will make people's muscles tremble unconsciously; muscle stiffness; sluggishness; Can't control the walking posture, easy to fall; More saliva is produced, and even a variety of diseases such as depression, sleep disorders, cognitive impairment and constipation can occur. Current medicine cannot be cured, only alleviated.
Han Weidong, as a TCM expert who studies such diseases, wrote the book "Ancient Herbs, Modern Medicine", and his death is a great loss to the medical profession, and it also makes people who have suffered from diseases lose a chance for treatment.
The pressure on the local police has intensified, and many people have demanded that the murderer must be arrested as soon as possible and brought to justice.
Clues point to
The autopsy report presented by the forensic doctor showed that Han Weidong's family was shot a total of 14 times, all of which hit the head, Han Weidong and his wife were each shot 3 times, their daughter was shot 8 times in the head, of which 1 shot hit the eyebrow, and the rest of the bullets hit the left eyelid and eye bag, right nose, left forehead, and Han Weidong's daughter's skull was shot and broken.
Such a cruel killing method once again aroused the anger of the people, who did this cruel hand to Dr. Han Weidong's family? And treat a 5-year-old girl like this?
The forensic doctor analyzed the situation of Han Weidong's family being shot, and judged that the probability was that an acquaintance committed the crime, because Han Weidong and others did not show traces of struggle on their bodies, and it was likely that they were completely unaware before being shot, and they were shot and killed suddenly.
Those who can not arouse suspicion to enter the mansion and not let Han Weidong's family be guarded must be people who have more daily dealings with him, and for a while, the police locked Han Weidong's friends and neighbors, and they became the most likely suspects to shoot Han Weidong's family.
The police entered Han Weidong's mansion to investigate and found many clues left by the murderer, they speculated that there was more than one person who entered the mansion at the time of the crime, could it be that there were two murderers? Was it a premeditated gang? What do they want?
While the police officer in the mansion was looking for clues, a phone call came to the police station, the man said that his name was "Di Lei", he said that he knew who killed Han Weidong's family, but asked the police to ensure his safety, and he thought the killer was about to find him.
The police took Direh back to the police station to record his testimony, and Direda said that on the day of the crime, that is, at 9 a.m. on the 23rd, he received a text message from "Haubes" who he had previously met through work, and Hauber said that he needed his help and would come to his home now.
Thinking that he was going to borrow money and other things, Direda told Hauber the address of his residence, and around noon, Haub arrived at his house, and the two sat in the courtyard and chatted.
Direda noticed that Haubes's mood was not right, he kept saying that he was a monster, and said that he killed 3 people, Direda thought that Haub was joking, but did not expect Haub to directly tell him that it was Han Weidong's family who were killed.
Dieda and Han Weidong are business partners who are developing skincare products with CBD.
CBD is marijuana, it is legal in the United States, Japan, and some parts of Southeast Asia, and can be used in skin care products and cosmetics, but it is illegal in the mainland.
If you want to buy skin care products and cosmetics overseas, whether online or offline, you must look at the ingredients of the product clearly, do not buy products containing CBD, or buy CBD directly, which are prohibited products in the mainland.
When Direda heard the news that Han Weidong's family was killed by Haubes, he still thought that Haub was joking, and Direda said that he would help carry Han Weidong's body, and after sending Haub away, Direda did not take it seriously.
Haub once sent him several text messages on the 23rd, and said that he rented an 18-wheeled truck with a forklift and took care of everything. Dereid's confession mentioned that Hauber killed Han Weidong for $20 million.
Officers searching Han Weidong's mansion obtained more clues, and in Han Weidong's master bedroom, officers found that the sheets on the bed were missing, and bloodstained sheets and quilt covers were found in the washing machine.
The police believed that the master bedroom was the scene of the shooting, and they carefully surveyed every corner of the room and extracted 16 fingerprints, one of which matched the fingerprints on the white bag that wrapped the body, and the police determined that this was the fingerprint of the murderer.
They provided fingerprints to the California government for fingerprint comparison, and found that this person was Hauber in Dereda's mouth, and the fingerprints belonged to his left thumb and right palm.
There is also a briefcase in the other room of the mansion, which contains a contract, and the signatures on the last page are Han Weidong and Haush, which makes the police officer who handled the case wonder, since the two have a cooperative relationship, why did Haub kill Han Weidong? Is it really because of $20 million? Where is this money stored?
The police found the cleaner in charge of cleaning the mansion, he did not live here, but would clean at a fixed time, according to the cleaner's recollection, on the afternoon of the 23rd, he once saw a red Lexus coming. Officers also found Homedepot's shopping bag in a corner.
What confused the police the most was that they searched the entire mansion and did not find Han Weidong and his wife's mobile phones, if Haub was the murderer, why did he take Han Weidong and his wife's mobile phones?
Local police investigated the four clues, and they first confirmed Haub's identity and found that the red Lexus seen by the cleaners was indeed registered in Haub's name.
The officer then took Haubes' photo to Homedepot, where the clerk said he had seen Haubat a few days before the crime, and he had purchased a large white bag, which was confirmed by the surveillance inside Homedepot.
Finally, the police looked for the missing mobile phones of Han Weidong and his wife through the telephone company, Han Weidong's mobile phone has been turned off, but his wife's is still turned on, and the mobile phone is currently displayed near Haub's home.
All indications are that Haub is the murderer of Han Weidong's family, but why did he do this? If it was for money, without the password of Han Weidong and his wife, how could Hauber withdraw the money?
Operation Arrest
The confusion of the local police could only be explained by Haubes, who had locked Haub in his home. Because Hauber had a gun in his hand, the police did not dare to act rashly, fearing that they would provoke him and a shootout would occur.
The police first put Mr. Haub under watch, and they crouched near Haub's home and his parents' house, closely watching their every move.
On the night of March 25, officers watched Haubis sit at home smoking and leaving the house late at night, while Haub's father also drove out at the same time, followed by officers.
The car of the Haub father and son was parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot, the two cars were very close, the police saw Haub's father take out 2 duffel bags from the trunk of the car, and put them in Haubes's red Lexus car, the police realized that Haub was going to escape, the police urgently contacted the police department and asked for the immediate arrest of Hawbush, if he escaped, the arrest operation would become more difficult.
The Santa Barbara County police decided to let the officers follow the Haubes and sons, wait for Haubes to get out of the car, confirm that he did not carry a firearm, and arrest him immediately.
The police followed the Haubes and his son to a nearby gas station, they confirmed that Haubes did not have guns on him, so they immediately got out of the car and caught them.
The police found the gun that killed Han Weidong's family in Haubes' car, a social security number written on Han Weidong in the passenger seat, and a thermal bag containing Han Weidong's credit card, mobile phone, tablet and his wife's mobile phone. Inside the trunk, police found another gun and a receipt for shopping at Homedepot.
What shocked the police was Haubes' computer and mobile phone, which were enough evidence to prove that Haub had premeditated murder of Han Weidong's family.
Motives for the crime
It is true that you can buy a gun in the United States, but not everyone can buy it, and you need to show proof that you are using it. Police used information on guns to locate the shop where Hauber bought guns, which he bought in Arizona in early March 2016, and asked clerks several times when buying guns how loud the guns could make. The police believe he had premeditated the murder of Han Weidong's family when he bought the gun.
Mr. Haub countered the police, saying that the reason he bought the gun was because he was frightened when a gunman broke into the room at a hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona, so he went to buy a gun to protect himself.
Hobusch and Han signed a memorandum of understanding, a treaty to deal with smaller matters, about Haubes' new energy installation project, and he wanted to provide Han with $15 million worth of U.S. Treasury bonds.
The police became suspicious of Haubes' confession and launched an investigation into him, discovering that all this was a lie made up by Haub. Computers and mobile phones recovered from his car confirm this.
Hawbush's computer searches included searches of guns before the crime and asked how much damage a 22-gauge pistol could do to the skull. On the day of the crime, Hauber searched for bank transfers and other content. The police found in Han Weidong's computer records that there were traces of changing bank usernames and passwords in the afternoon.
The police investigation found that on the afternoon of the 23rd, Han Weidong's Chase bank account had made two payments to Haubes, about $100,000, and the most important thing was that Han Weidong's computer had a deep spyware, and in Haubes' computer, the police found the same program, and the installation time was 1 hour earlier than Han Weidong's computer.
The day before, on March 22, Hauber had visited Han Weidong's home, used his computer, installed spyware, and after leaving, he texted Han Weidong to fill out a registration form, thus obtaining Han Weidong's social insurance account number and credit card number.
Haubes has always been reluctant to admit that he killed Han Weidong, but the evidence found by the police points to him, and the two remittances are the strongest evidence.
The local court tried Haub and found that Haubhe had committed three first-degree murders, including murder for financial gain in exceptional circumstances, multiple murders, and personal shooting causing grievous bodily harm. If convicted, Haubes would be sentenced to death.
Haub has refused to admit to his killing, has a negative attitude towards the investigation, is unwilling to cooperate with the police and prosecutors, and the trial has been postponed until April 15, 2022.
Haub was sentenced to life imprisonment, life in prison, without parole.
Parole means that prisoners who have been sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment or life imprisonment, have performed well in prison, suffer from serious illness, or have indeed shown repentance, and meet other conditions, can be released from prison early.
Haub killed his partner Han Weidong's family because of money, and he personally lost his freedom, even if he spoke hard, he could not escape the condemnation of his conscience.
When the lawyers dealt with Mr. Han's estate, they did not find the so-called $20 million, mostly real estate, business assets, bank deposits and pensions, totaling several million dollars. The heirs of Han Weidong's estate will be determined by the court.
This case shook the entire California Chinese community at that time, and the medical community also lost Han Weidong, an excellent Chinese medicine doctor, which was a great loss for people suffering from diseases.
