My childhood was spent in the countryside, in the early '80s.

At that time, there was only one "local tycoon" in the village who had a 12-inch black-and-white TELEVISION. "Local tycoons" also enjoy with the people, and in the summer night, they often move the TV set in the courtyard for everyone to see, and also wear a red scarf and pretend to be a color TV. The whole village of old and young flocked to gather, the small courtyard was not open, and those who could not squeeze could only climb the trees to live.

At that time, the mainland television industry was just starting out, and it was facing a big problem, that is, the contradiction between the growing cultural needs of the masses of the people and the relative backwardness of the productive forces of television programs. Therefore, in order to solve this problem, the TV station has introduced a large number of TV dramas from Hong Kong and Taiwan, whether it is TVB (wireless) or ATV/RTV (ATV/Li), whether it is a martial arts drama or a fashion drama, which floods the screen.

It is no exaggeration to say that these TV series have woven a beautiful, psychedelic dream for people, so that everyone is deeply trapped in it and unable to extricate themselves. Of course, at the end of the show, people still have to return to reality, the first thing is to find a nowhere, to hold a long time of urine, free up. It is a pity that behind the earthen house of a certain family, it has become a place to complete this mission, and I did not expect that over time, the earthen house was actually collapsed by the urine of everyone. The owner of the house was furious and vowed to find the culprit and confiscate his "murder weapon", but in the end it was too difficult to solve.

TvB people have said too much about Hong Kong dramas, and I just want to recall ATV.

As the first television station in Hong Kong (formerly known as "Li's", changed to "ATV" in 1982), the fate of ATV can be described as a twist and turn, which makes people sigh, whether it has been reborn or not, in my heart, it has long gone.

There are many reasons for the decline of ATV, one of which is related to the suppression of wireless. It is reasonable to say that when ATV (then known as "Li") was established, a single company was dominant, and even if wireless joined the war later, it may not be able to leverage the strong mass base it has accumulated, but the cleverness of wireless is the implementation of "free", which suddenly puts the charging ATV to death. If you don't talk about the Run Run Shaw cattle, this mind and vision, others don't say that four horses can't catch up, even eight horses are probably enough.

"Free" or "Paid", which would you choose? Does this still need to be asked? In this way, the wireless soldier did not bloodshed to occupy the market, ATV quickly adjusted its strategy, but also changed to free, but unfortunately could not return to the sky. The rating ratio of ATV and wireless has always been 2:8, and sometimes ATV releases one or two big moves that can bring the ratings closer to 4:6, but this is the limit, beyond which there is no hope.

Competition is a "bad thing" for ATV, but it is a good thing for the audience, and those high-quality Hong Kong dramas come from competition. Why is it that the wireless series are getting worse and worse now, because there are fewer opponents, there is no pressure and motivation, so it is no longer possible to produce the previous fine works, and it has been hovering at a low point. In this way, it is difficult to distinguish who is the winner.

Although wireless is "more powerful" than ATV, in my experience, the ATV episodes I watch are no less than wireless, and even surpassed wireless in the early days.

In the 1980s, ATV (Li's) made a series of minchu kung fu films, the most influential of which was "The Great Hero Huo Yuanjia", which could be described as an empty alley when it was broadcast in the mainland. Later, there were "Chen Zhen", "Huo Dongge", "Journey to the Tiger Mountain" and so on, which also set off a ratings frenzy.

This is followed by two historical dramas, Wu Zetian and Qin Shi Huang. Wu Zetian is played by Feng Baobao, and the beauty of Feng Baobao cannot be compared to any "ice ice". "Qin Shi Huang" was most impressed by the theme song sung by Luo Jialiang, every time I heard "the earth is under my feet, the national plan is in my hands, which dares to speak more." Who is the six countries, which one is unified and hegemonic, and who has a higher record than the lonely family", immediately boiled with blood.

Another episode, "Eight Immortals Across the Sea," got me beaten up. The thing is this, in the play, Zhang Guolao was incarnated as an immortal because he ate a ginseng stick, so I also naively thought that ginseng was extremely effective, just when there was a bottle of ginseng bubble wine at home, he poured out the wine and took it out to eat, the result can be imagined, the immortal did not do it, the ass was almost wasted, and the outer gara was more than rare.

There are also Wu Weiguo and Liang Xiaolong's "Four Famous Catches", Pan Zhiwen and Luo Lelin's "Tianya Mingyue Knife", Jiang David and Chen Xiuwen's "Amber Green Dragon", etc., which are thought to be the best versions of many remakes.

In the 1990s, ATV's subject matter was more extensive. The cool "bullet perspective" in "Gun God" makes people stunned; "The Winner is King" makes the rioters have a deck of poker and practices the flying card technique desperately; there is a comparison of "Jingwumen", you will think that the same is Zhen Zidan, what is the "Jingwu Fengyun" filmed; two zombie-themed dramas, Lin Zhengying's "Zombie Daochang" shows professionalism, Wan Qiwen's "I have a date with zombies", well, the display should be a big long leg, anyway, my eyes have not left.

Then, there was no then, from the end of the nineties, ATV was in a slump, until now it has become history, and all we can do is to say "goodbye" reluctantly.

Through Hong Kong TV dramas, mainland people not only learned about Hong Kong and celebrities, but also came into contact with Cantonese songs.

There are TV dramas, naturally there is a soundtrack, and Hong Kong operas have always been unambiguous about the creation of theme songs and interludes, songwriters are masters, and singers are also singers, so they can make a song with a beautiful melody, catchy, and close to the theme of the series. It can be said that Hong Kong drama and music are inseparable, songs are spread because of TV series, TV dramas are enhanced by songs, and the two rely on each other, complement each other, and are also popular with each other.

The Cantonese song I first listened to was the theme song of the TV series, and for a little northern fart, as long as these unintelligible languages were heard on tv, it was particularly exciting, because it heralded a good drama that was about to start.

This also explains from a psychological point of view why I still like Cantonese songs, as soon as I hear Cantonese songs, I feel kind and comfortable, in layman's terms, I am Pavlov's dog, and Cantonese songs represent the wonderful and exciting that comes with it, bells and red lights that meet my spiritual needs. Yes, it has a scientific term called "conditioned reflexes."

To be honest, although I like Cantonese songs and have listened to them for many years, my understanding of Cantonese has always stayed in a limited number of words such as "fluttering street" and "shove", so I can't understand a word. For example, "Again to the Tiger Mountain" has an episode, the first two sentences are "old bag, hey, old bag", I always can't understand who this "old bag" is, many years later compared with the lyrics to suddenly realize, the original people sang "stay step, feed, stay step".

Children of that era, if they could not sing two sentences in cantonese that they were not familiar with, "Waves, waves", "Faint dreams like they had seen", "Sleep for a hundred years, the Chinese people have gradually woken up", they will be laughed at. One of my classmates would sing a lot of Hong Kong opera theme songs, amusing the girls, and at the cost of a popsicle, I asked him for cantonese pronunciation tips, and he told me two words: "Blind singing." "Since then, I have understood a truth: Cantonese songs are not understood, and if they are understood, they lose their mystery and freshness.

Indeed, the language barrier does not hinder my appreciation of Cantonese songs, which have a unique charm compared to Chinese songs. First of all, it is more abundant and fashionable in music, do not forget that in the early days, a large number of Cantonese songs used Dongying tunes, and Japan is the leading boss of Asian music; secondly, Cantonese pronunciation is very suitable for singing, Cantonese has a total of 9 sounds, which is twice as much as 4 voices in Mandarin, therefore, Cantonese songs can be described as depressed and frustrated, hundreds of turns; Finally, Cantonese is the dialect with the most ancient Chinese elements in China, and the lyrics of many Cantonese songs are antique, Bing Bingxuan, even if the song is removed, it is also an excellent article. This is thanks to the fact that Hong Kong has a group of good fillers, and their literary attainments are by no means inferior to well-known writers.

Well, after talking about ATV and the theme song of the TV series, then naturally it leads to the protagonist of this article - Ye Zhentang. Because, he is called "the king of TV dramas", and the classics he sings are mainly concentrated in ATV (Li's), including the magnificent song "Huo Yuanjia (The Great Wall Never Falls)".

Regarding Ye Zhentang's family, some say that his father was a Vietnamese overseas Chinese, and some say that he and "gambling saint" Ye Han are relatives. Especially the latter, if the real and Ye Han are the family, then Ye Zhentang will not be unable to find a job after graduating from secondary school, just engage in "sexy dealer online licensing" in Ye Han's casino, and also use to run to Hong Kong?

Yes, Ip Was born in Macau, and the year of birth is also a confused account, there are two theories of 1944 and 1945. Some good people have inquired and confirmed that Ye Zhentang was actually born in 1945, and when he first arrived in Hong Kong, he was too young to work, so he was 1 year older, which made some information written in 1944.

Ye Zhentang was about 11 years old, and once fell ill (possibly scarlet fever or typhoid fever) caused a high fever, which was not treated in time, affected the optic nerve, and since then has blurred vision. This condition has always plagued Ye Zhentang, and with the increase of age, it has become more and more serious, a few years ago he checked his eyes and found that his eyesight was less than 10% of normal people.

This shows that Ye Zhentang and Ye Han have no relationship, because Ye Han crosses the gambling world, relying on a "listening to the dice" skill, the so-called "blind ear", since Ye Zhentang has an eye disease, then the hearing must be very good, Ye Handang can be adopted as a descendant, to be cultivated, at that time, what gambling god, gambling hero, gambling king, gambling bully, gambling dignity are not a word.

Ye Zhentang's good hearing did not have the opportunity to play in gambling, so it was used elsewhere...

After Ip Chun Tong went to school, due to eye problems, his studies were average, and when he studied business at St John's English Secondary School (completed) at the top of the post in Macau, he was the slowest in the class to type and was often criticized. However, every time Ye Zhentang took the exam, there was a homework that always got a high score, that is, music. Guy, who has loved singing since he was a child, suffered from an eye disease and became more sensitive to melodies, and his pitch was unmatched.

Music allowed Ye Zhentang to find self-confidence, so he also devoted more time to it, practicing guitar, specializing in singing skills, and sandwiching with classmates, until he later became a professional singer, all of which can be regarded as a blessing in disguise.

After graduating from high school, Ip Zhentang did nothing, and when he heard that Hong Kong across the sea was full of gold, he took a boat to work.

When he arrived in Hong Kong, first, he was young, and second, when he came to Hong Kong, he did not recognize Macau's academic qualifications, and Ye Zhentang ran into walls everywhere, helpless, he had to teach people to play the guitar to make a living. Suddenly, a few years passed, and nothing was achieved.

In 1969, he once met an Indonesian friend on the street who had played music in Macau, who is now a resident band at a bar. During the conversation, the friend learned about Ye Zhentang's situation and said, the bass guitar of the band is two jobs, very tired, do not want to do it, why not you top it? Ye Zhentang was worried about eating and immediately agreed. In this regard, he joined the band, began a bar residency career, and officially started his acting career.

Time flies, the white colt passes through the gap, and in the blink of an eye, it comes to 1974. One day, As usual, Ip Chun Tong sang in a bar in Central, and after singing, a man and a woman approached him and warmly invited him to join a newly formed band.

The man's name is Zhong Dingyi, and the woman's name is Chen Jieling. Zhong Dingyi was once the harpsichordist of the popular group D'Topnotes, and after the group broke up, he found Chen Jieling, who was a red card in baguio nightclub and was the host and singer of Li's "Melody of Youth", and fought against the jianghu, the result was average, and he planned to find another male singer and Chen Jieling to partner. They heard that Ye Zhentang sang very well, came to visit, and when they heard it, they were very satisfied, so they issued an invitation.

Ye Zhentang pondered for a while, felt reliable, and agreed to join the company.

The new band was formed, named The New Topnotes, with early members including Chung Ding-yi (harpsichord), Chen Jieling (lead vocals/bass), Yip Chun-tong (lead vocals/bass guitar), Lin Mudd (guitar) and Andrew Oh (blowing), roberto Petaccia (drums). It was later replaced by Carlos Mendoza).

The New Topnotes was founded at the beginning, mainly sung in nightclubs, several people are very hardworking, rehearsals after the performance, 5 days a week, every day from 2 pm to 6 pm, must be rehearsal time.

So carefully polished, the band cooperation tacit understanding, especially Ye Zhentang and Chen Jieling, the singing is beautiful, the cooperation is seamless, and it is welcomed.

As the band gradually became popular, everyone's ambitions increased accordingly, and nightclubs such as bars could no longer meet the demand for performances. At this point, Singaporean member Andrew Oh (or Roberto Petaccia, it is really unclear) suggested that it was better to go to Sing Tao to develop, and that I had relations there to ensure that the arrangements were in place. Such a good thing, what are you waiting for? The crowd immediately packed their bags and went on a walk-and-go trip.

In Singapore, sure enough, the band was arranged to perform in the restaurants and clubs of the top local hotels, and people had to queue up if they wanted to listen to the songs. At the same time, they were also on TV.

The momentum generated by The New Topnotes caught the attention of the record company, and in 1975, the band released their first self-titled album in Singapore. This is also the first record recorded by Ye Zhentang.

The New Topnotes debut album

In the next 3 years, the band performed and released records, and in 1978, they went international and toured Italy for half a year, during which a mini album was launched, which reached the top of the European record charts.

However, the trip to Italy, which was also the dissolution tour of The New Topnotes, was the problem with Ye Zhentang, who returned to Hong Kong early during the tour because of family affairs, and later said that he could not run around and proposed to leave the team. The New Topnotes thus ends.

How to say this, I think Ye Zhentang is bitter. Although what is going on in his family is unknown, but as far as he is concerned, 30 years old (34 years old at the time) is still wandering around outside, anyone is anxious, what he needs is stability, it is a family, especially when performing in Verona, what he sees and hears in his ears are the stories of Romeo and Juliet (Verona is the place where Romeo and Juliet stories take place), which may make him even more determined to return to Hong Kong.

Ye Zhentang's feelings are very simple, and he has only had one girlfriend for many years, that is, Shao actress Yu Feng. Yu Feng married in the mid-1970s, and only came together with Ye Zhentang after the divorce, and the two got along for more than 20 years but did not get married. Yu Feng has been helping Ye Zhentang take care of his work and take care of him with amblyopia. In 2015, Yu Feng died of illness, and Ye Zhentang was devastated. In 2017, media reported that 72-year-old Ye Zhentang and a woman in her 30s behaved intimately, and there is no news of how the situation is now.

Back to the point. Leaving The New Topnotes, Ip continued to be a resident singer, and while singing at the Furama Hotel, he met former Ming's female drummer Wu Mali and indie musician Huang Zhengguang, and the three of them began to cooperate.

Wong's older brother Wong Kai Kwong is the head of EMI Records Hong Kong, and Ip Signed a personal contract with EMI when he was at The New Topnotes, and it was only natural for EMI to produce albums for them. In 1979, Ip Chun Tong, Wu Ma Li and Huang ZhengGuang released a Cantonese album under the name of the band "Ma Zheng Tang" (each of them taking a word in their names).

Xiangjiang Qunyin Ping Trace Hero Shadow Ye Zhentang

"Ma Zhengtang" album

You know, whether Ye Zhentang was in The New Topnotes, or when he sang with Wu Mali and Huang Zhengguang, he sang English songs all the time, and now he is singing Cantonese songs, which is forced by the situation, because at that time, with Xu Guanjie's Cantonese pop songs deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, English cover songs and Chinese era songs gradually lost the market, even Lin Zixiang, Wen Na, Teddy Robin and other English song veterans have changed their ways and produced Cantonese albums, Ye Zhentang's old cadres encountered new problems, naturally to conform to the trend. Moreover, this is also a requirement of the record company, they are very good at abacusing, know what songs can be sold.

Unfortunately, emi horses lost their front hooves. The first Cantonese album in which Zhang Yip Chun Tong participated was not selling well, resulting in the "Ma ZhengTang" band no longer having a follow-up, and the three of them scattered.

Ye Zhentang's career was blocked, his future was confused, and just when he was wandering, he did not expect that a notice from the record company in 1980 completely changed his fate.

In other words, in the late 70s and early 80s, in order to fight against wireless, Li's produced a number of wonderful dramas to be staged in turn. There are more TV dramas, and singers are required to sing theme songs and interludes, when Li's popular theme song is sung by outside singers, and the interlude is interpreted by the artists on the stage. So, how to find a singer outside? Simple, let the record label recommend.

In early 1980, after the highly rated "Chameleon", Li produced a large-scale TV series with 76 episodes, "Floating Life Six Disasters", and Li contacted EMI to introduce a singer to sing the theme song of the play. EMI chose to go, picked Ye Zhentang, let him record a sample to listen to the effect, Ye Zhentang did. A week later, Ye Zhentang received a notice that the theme song of "Six Disasters of Floating Life" was determined to be him.

Ye Zhentang successfully recorded the song. Soon, he was told to record the episode "Dramatic Life" of "Six Disasters of Floating Life" again. Oh, this doesn't fit Into Li's tradition? Originally, "Drama Life" was originally arranged for the artist Ma Min'er to sing, but Li Xiaotian, the music director of Li, was not satisfied and proposed to simply let Ye Zhentang's theme song and interlude be sung. This change can give Ye Zhentang a problem, because the music of "Drama Life" has long been made according to Ma Min'er's tone, the TV series is about to be broadcast, it is too late to redo the music, and Ye Zhentang must sing according to the tune.

Ye Zhentang walked into the studio with a hard scalp, and the rest was good to say, and the last sentence was extremely high in tone, and it was impossible to sing at all. How to deal with it? Ye Zhentang came up with a way to use a false voice! At that time, Ye Zhentang sang English songs, such as Bread's songs, and used to use false voices, which was his strength. As a result, "Drama Life" sang so well, the effect was excellent, won people's love, won the Top Ten Chinese Golden Melody Award. In the future, Ye Zhentang used false voices more when singing, which became a sharp weapon and label for him to cross the singing world.

The album "Six Disasters of The Floating Life"

Ye Zhentang sang the two songs of "Six Disasters of Floating Life" and "Drama Life", which made Li very satisfied, and immediately signed a contract with him, not an artist contract, nor a singer contract, but a theme song contract for six TV series.

Some people have said that Ye Zhentang is also from the band, according to the current saying, it is definitely a rock old cannon, how can it be "degenerate" to give a TV series soundtrack? In addition, the theme song of the TV series at that time was generally a folk song minor or martial arts style, and he who sang Western songs could control it?

Ye Zhentang didn't have so many ideas, anyway, just give money, sing anything the same. He is an old-school singer, singing is a job, there is no baggage, because he loves and respects his profession, so no matter how he changes, he will devote himself wholeheartedly and strive for perfection. As for the style issue, the person in charge of the theme song and interlude of Lai's TV series is the Filipino O'Jinbao, whose music is completely Westernized, such as "Tai Chi Zhang Sanfeng" (1980), his idea of arranging the music is from "Star Wars", and many Hong Kong musicians are proud to be able to play "Tai Chi Zhang Sanfeng". Therefore, don't look at Li's theme songs on the surface as Chinese style, in fact, they are the product of the fusion of Chinese and Western, and Ye Zhentang interprets them more easily.

After signing the contract, Ye Zhentang shook his spirit and opened his voice for Li, and next, he sang "Da Nei Qunying", "Taiji Zhang Sanfeng", "Ranger Zhang Sanfeng", "Bloody Taiping Mountain" (and interlude "Can't Find the Origin Mouth"). These songs were all made into albums for release, among which the "Blood Taiping Mountain" album sold for five platinums.

After that, it was the sensational "Huo Yuanjia the Great Hero".

(6)

In 1980, Li's filming of "The Great Hero Huo Yuanjia", the theme song was composed by Li Xiaotian, and handed over to Lu Guozhan to fill in the lyrics.

Lu Guozhan did not know where Huo Yuanjia was and could not write, so he asked the director Xu Xiaoming. Xu Xiaoming introduced the plot, saying that he was dancing and spitting. Lu Guozhan asked, is there really such a person in history? Xu Xiaoming knew it, and could only use a sentence of "old legend" to prevaricate. Xu Dao didn't play well, if I were to say, "Huo Yuanjia is our thousands of Chinese!" "Absolutely shut up Lu Guozhan."

Lu Guozhan believes that the plot of the hard bridge and hard horse must awaken the feelings of Chinese patriotism and resistance to foreign insults, and the lyrics are inevitably slogan-style, so he wrote the first sentence of "Sleeping for a hundred years, the people of the country have gradually woken up"...

The floodgates of thought opened, and Lu Guozhan recalled the past of his wife's family: from 1941 to 1945, when Japan invaded Hong Kong, her mother-in-law saw four Japanese soldiers and shot and killed her son and daughter, who were only ten years old and three years old. She was also sent to the refugee camp..." Rush away from the bloody road and wave, to devote herself to the national ZTE." Let the land be trampled on again, and this sleeping lion has gradually awakened" Lu Guozhan wrote with a stroke of his pen.

Ye Zhentang took the song and finished recording it as usual, at that time he did not think about the impact of this song.

In 1981, "The Great Hero Huo Yuanjia" was broadcast in Li. In 1983, the drama was introduced to the mainland, triggering a ratings frenzy and causing a situation of thousands of empty alleys, of which the theme song has been passed down to this day and is regarded as a classic.

In fact, the "Great Hero Huo Yuanjia (The Great Wall Never Falls)" heard by mainland audiences at that time was not sung by Ye Zhentang. According to Xu Xiaoming, when the play was introduced to the mainland, he recorded a version himself and put it at the beginning of the film, so what we heard was Xu Xiaoming's version.

This song, there is also a Lu Nianzu version. In 1984, "Guangzhou Liu Wenzheng" Lu Nianzu released a cover album "Grace of the Earth", which included this song and was widely sung.

No matter which version you heard back then, the fact that "The Great Hero Huo Yuanjia" was the first song of Ye Zhentang and was his masterpiece cannot be changed, and now everyone is unanimously recognized and familiar with the "genuine" identity of Ye Zhentang's version.

"The Great Hero Huo Yuanjia" was successful, and Li's two derivative dramas "Chen Zhen" and "Huo Dongge" continued to climax, but the theme song of "Chen Zhen" "Big is China" and the theme song of "Huo Dongge" "Good Boy" were all hung up by Xu Xiaoming, and Ye Zhentang was missing.

It is not that Ye Zhentang is unwilling to sing, nor is it that Xu Xiaoming does not let him sing, only because in 1982, Ye Zhentang completed Li's six TV series contract and over-file wireless.

It is a pity that Ye Zhentang lost touch with "The Big Is China", "Good Boy" and even the later "Journey to the Tiger Mountain", but he is still in the wireless. For example, just joined wireless in 1982, he sang the theme song of "Su Qi'er" "Forget the Heart", and won the Top Ten Chinese Golden Melody Award again.

The lyrics of "Forget the Heart" are the famous "Hui (Gu Jiahui) Huang (Huang Xia) group, Gu Jiahui once said that this song is the favorite of the many songs they have collaborated on. Huang Xia was embarrassed to praise himself, so he praised the singer, saying that if it were not for Ye Zhentang's singing, this song might not be so popular. When Ye Zhentang saw that the two masters were like this, he could only work harder: "My greatest luck in this life is to sing "Forget my heart's feelings". "Well, this is into the Quaqua Group.

In 1982, it was the peak of Ye Zhentang, in addition to "Forgetting the Heart", which was rated as "a good song is enough", he also played a big role in the "Tokyo Music Festival".

The Tokyo Music Festival has been held since 1972 and is divided into four "conventions", of which the "World Congress" is a music performance day in which experts from all over the world compete together. The first Hong Kong singer to participate in the Tokyo Music Festival was Hui Guanjie, who won the TBS Award for "Yon Make MeShine" in 1979.

In 1982, Lin Zixiang and Ye Zhentang participated in the 11th "Tokyo Music Festival - World Congress". Yip Chun Tong won the Asia Special Award for his song "The Waiting Fate".

In the same year, Ye Zhentang also sang theme songs such as the TVB drama "Drama Class Kid" and "Leap eighteen floors" ("Difficult to divide the right and evil").

(vii)

In addition to TV dramas, during this period, Ye Zhentang also sang a lot of non-drama songs, such as "Flute Girl", "Forward", "This Leaf for You", "Moon God", etc., which are both beautiful and standard.

During the wireless period, Ye Zhentang's biggest gain was the "double leaf" partner formed with Ye Liyi.

In 1984, Ye Zhentang and Ye Liyi sang "Smiling Proud of the Rivers and Lakes", which gave rise to the title of "Double Leaf". It is said that "Futaba" is Yu Cheng's creative idea, which is homophonous with "business" and asks for a good mouthpiece. Sure enough, "Futaba" was very successful in business, and since the first concert was held in 1984, it has traveled all over the world and become a famous brand in the music world, especially in the American casino performances are widely popular, the money is rolling, and the income is very rich. So far, the two are still planning to board the Red Pavilion, but the application is difficult, which is regrettable.

In 1985, Ye Zhentang signed up for Eternal Records with EMI, at this time, the TV series songs were in decline, and he wanted to take this opportunity to change the song path and start over.

How did Ye Zhentang change? To scare you by saying it, he formed another band and played rock'n' roll. It seems that the Band fire in his heart has not been extinguished.

In 1986, Ye Zhentang released the album "New Contact" in the face of a band, probably people could not accept the wildness of "Big Hero", the album sales were mediocre, Ye Zhentang had to put down the electric guitar, put on the formal dress, and continue to be affectionate. However, his time has passed, and no matter how hard he tries, he cannot change the reality of tomorrow's yellow flowers.

Xiangjiang Qunyin Ping Trace Hero Shadow Ye Zhentang

Ye Zhentang played the band again and launched "New Contact"

Faced with this situation, in the early 1990s, Ye Zhentang once faded out of the scene and turned to investing in the recording studio.

Opening a recording studio is actually a dream of Ye Zhentang, when he first walked into the studio to record songs many years ago, he was full of curiosity about the equipment inside, and hoped that he could have one, and now is the opportunity.

Ye Zhentang poured out his life savings of several million yuan, rented a unit of more than 1,000 feet, and bought the most advanced and advanced equipment from Japan, and began to operate, Rowan, Beyond and others and Huaxing were his customers.

At first, the wind and fire were fierce, but after three or four years of operation, Ye Zhentang could not continue, first, he was not the material for business, and second, Huaxing and other record companies were in serious debt, which made him close to the door.

In the end, Ye Zhentang handled the equipment to Andy Lau, and it was scattered with a thousand gold and two sleeves.

During this period, Ye Zhentang returned to ATV and sang the theme songs of TV series, including "Roaring Heaven and Drinking the Moon" ("Green Blood and Blue Sky Yang Jiajian"), "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", "Victory With Two Hands" ("I am from Chaozhou") and so on.

After 2000, Ye Zhentang frequently appeared in various performances, and earned some money after gathering with old friends and fans. With the money, he picked up his hobbies and started tinkering with recordings again, and since 2013, he has produced an annual audiophile record, in Cantonese, English, and Chinese. Even if the sales are average, they are not tired, according to his words, because they like to sing, they just want to do something for the music world and bring happiness to everyone. Until now, in his 70s, he still often drills into his own studio to concoct music.

Ye Zhentang's current situation

Ye Zhentang has always been called "Brother Tang", not only because of his age, but also because of his status, achievements, musical attitude, and low-key and kind respect.
