At the beginning of 1951, the government called on students to join the army, and university students responded enthusiastically. In the end, 157 people from his university were approved to join the military cadre school.
The reminiscer wanted to sign up, but considering that his parents were old and infirm, he was the only son, and finally did not have the courage to stand up. After that, I always felt guilty, but when the motherland needed you, I cowered!
Later, he secretly decided to meet the next test. On July 7 of that year, he applied for the second time in the army, and because he was mentally prepared, he stood up, and when the senior students (party members) represented the organization to hang red flowers for him, praising the applicants as good sons and daughters of the motherland, he was moved to tears.
As a result, only one classmate was approved in the class this time, and it was still a battlefield, but it was also considered an ideological victory.
At the beginning of 1951, another anti-rebellion campaign was launched in China. This is also related to the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the front fights, the rear must be stable! Focus on cracking down on bandits, spies, bullies, and reactionary sect leaders... Require the person in question to register with the government.
Universities also organize study papers, raise awareness and carry out whistleblowing.
The reminiscer came from a small landowner's family, and he examined his relatives and friends around him, knowing that his uncle had served as the chief of the county construction section and the finance section of Wang, and his fourth uncle had served as the director of the county training center, but he did not know what exactly they had done, and there was no basis for reporting and exposing them as counter-revolutionaries.
His uncle fled after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 1945 and served as the director of general affairs at an elementary school. My uncle once took the initiative to tell him: Back then, I worked for the Japanese in the open, and secretly had contacts with the guerrillas and the New Fourth Army. I had planned to drive away the warship, but it didn't work, and someone could testify for me. I didn't need to register this time, but I took on those positions, so I went to register and wait for processing.
The reminiscers will be suspicious, since it has been registered, that is. A few days later, I went to my uncle's house, and my uncle told me that my uncle had been arrested and later sentenced to three years.
The fourth uncle had become a member of the provincial CPPCC after liberation, and someone in his hometown in the countryside revealed that he had two guns hidden in his home, and the peasants went to the city to take him back and shoot him.
The first time the reminiscers encountered this kind of thing, they felt that they should first trust the government and face such a reality from the standpoint of the people, and there was a shock in their minds and not much fluctuation in their feelings.
Let's talk about land reform. In the winter of 1950, some of the school's students and teachers were allowed to go straight to the movement. The following year, in September, more than 400 teachers and students from the Chinese and legal academies organized to participate in land reform.
This movement, directly related to the families of the reminiscers, has more ideological activity. He recognized that "land for the tiller" and believed that land should be handed over to the government and returned to the peasants. But at the same time, I also believe that the exploitation of land rent was caused by the system at that time, and the responsibility could not be entirely borne by the landlord, who were bullies, law-abiding and enlightened.
He persuaded his father to voluntarily hand over the land, hoping in his heart that he would not be fought.
Later, I received a letter from my father, saying that he had handed over the land deed to the government, and also helped write the land certificate, and he could still pay some wages every day; The property was confiscated, leaving only a dwelling, half a hall and a kitchen.
Further on, there was the "Three Anti Movement," which was the ideological transformation movement of intellectuals.
First, study the documents and explain the family, society, and organizational relationships; then criticism with self-criticism, personal examination; Finally, make a summary of ideas.
After visiting the land reform exhibition, seeing the landlord's cruel exploitation and oppression of the peasants, and connecting with his own family, he began to reflect that his father had been working hard all his life, smoking and playing cards, and living by collecting land rent; There are two "rent collectors" hired in the family to help collect rent and force debts; Invited the police, went to the countryside to scare the peasants ...
So he wrote a letter to his family, clearly stating his position, drawing a clear line with his parents, and asking them to be an exploiting class, and only by recognizing the sins of the past, honestly working and reforming, and striving to return to the people's ranks, was the only way out.
After that, my father refused to write again. Her mother wrote back that she had taken on some manual work and was also participating in labor.
Through this break with his family, he was only in his early twenties, and in terms of ideological transformation, he felt that he seemed to have been reborn, and since then he can let go of the "baggage" and move forward lightly.
