Macao Headlines: In response to a video circulating on the Internet of a man walking around the Northern District with a knife, Macao Customs has made a follow-up investigation after receiving a notification from the Public Security Police Force yesterday (22), seizing a water passenger bulk cargo point and related goods located in the industrial building in the North District, and prosecuting the person in charge of the scene. The Public Security Police Department earlier intercepted the knife-wielding person in the film in the unit, and was transferred to the procuratorate for investigation on suspicion of violating the relevant provisions of the Criminal Code on "prohibited weapons and explosive substances".

On the 22nd of this month, the Public Security Police followed up a short video case circulating on social media involving a man walking on the street with a knife, and around noon, officers of the Bureau intercepted him in a industrial building in the North District. Upon enquiry, he admitted that he had gone to a water passenger bulk cargo point in the industrial building and used the relevant knives to unpack the parallel cargo, and the Public Security Police Force, after obtaining the relevant information, immediately notified the Customs and Excise Department to follow up through the existing liaison mechanism. Upon receiving the notification, Customs and Excise Department dispatched officers to the industrial building unit for investigation, seized 28 kilograms of dried shark fins suspected to be used for water passenger activities on the spot, all without valid import documents, with a total value of about 80,000 patacas, and took away one male on-site person in charge for further investigation.

The person in charge of the scene and the person wielding the knife of the above-mentioned units are all residents of Macao, and the Customs has prosecuted the person in charge of the scene in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Foreign Trade Law, and the relevant illegal acts can be fined up to 50,000 patacas, and the seized goods will also be declared to belong to the Macao Special Administrative Region. The Public Security Police also referred knife-wielding persons to the Public Prosecutor's Office for investigation in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Criminal Code on "prohibited weapons and explosive substances". In addition, the unit involved did not have the business license certification documents and submitted it to the Financial Services Bureau for follow-up handling.
