Since the second half of 2022, the scientific research team jointly formed by Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area, South China Agricultural University and Guangdong Artisan Ecological Landscape Co., Ltd. has carried out the Baiyun Mountain animal and plant diversity protection monitoring project, and in November 2022, the scientific research team has obtained a batch of valuable wild animal data by deploying infrared cameras to monitor the wildlife of Baiyun Mountain.

The monitoring took a total of 30 capture days, and more than 150 independent and valid photos and some videos were taken. According to professional identification, a total of 10 species of birds and animals in 6 orders and 7 families are involved, including the national second-class protected animal Lophura nycthemera, the national three-animal weasel badger (Melogale moschata), the red deer (Muntiacus muntjak), the red-bellied squirrel (Callosciurus erythraeus), the black-collared noisy stork (Garrulax pectoralis), The black-throated noisy thrush (Pterorhinus chinensis), as well as the provincial key protected species of the bonobobophyllum and the IUCN species of the purple thrush.

March 20-26 this year is the 42nd "Bird Festival" and "Bird Love Week" in our province, I hope everyone can love birds, protect wild animals, and build a green and beautiful Guangzhou.

Below we will introduce you to several elves under the lens of infrared cameras.

Thanks to the continuous innovation and advancement of science and technology, we can use infrared cameras and other equipment to remotely monitor the activities of wild animals, obtain information about wild animals, avoid direct contact with wild animals to the greatest extent, avoid affecting their original life, understand their original living conditions, and then be able to formulate protection measures more accurately and protect wild animals more effectively.

Wild animals, like us humans, are the inhabitants of the earth, and we must protect wild animals and live in harmony with nature. Because to protect nature is to protect ourselves as human beings.
