Uganda criminalizes homosexuality and carries a severe penalty of death

According to Reuters, on March 21, local time, the Ugandan parliament passed an anti-gay (LGBT) bill with 387 votes in favor and 2 votes against. The bill provides for a maximum penalty of death for those involved in homosexual acts or those who solicit, promote or finance homosexual activities.

It is expected that the bill will be handed over to President Yoweri Museveni to sign and thus officially become law. Museveni, 78, became president in January 1986 and has been re-elected to a second term.

In fact, back in 2013, Uganda passed a similar anti-gay law. However, with strong intervention from Western countries, the law was repealed. #Uganda##Gay##今日热点我来评 #
