OPPO Pad 2 has two colors, light feather gold and nebula gray, because it is one of the very few tablets designed for landscape use, plus a special camera design, the back recognition is directly burst.
On the back is interesting's star orbit scrub process. Under the light, the back side is a circle of concentric circles radiating from the camera, and the actual lines are extremely shallow, and it is almost impossible to feel it.
In terms of industrial design, I personally feel that there are two small regrets: 1. The chamfer on the edge of the speaker is not large enough, and the edge of the speaker is slightly scratched. 2. The fuselage turned out to be so thin that the C port was not centered, it really, I cried to death. The rest has a lot to offer:

The measured brightness of OPPO Pad 2 is half a stop higher than the previous generation, with a maximum brightness of 516 nits in the center, and a four-corner brightness of 457/464/500/469 nits at this time, with decent uniformity and viewing angle.
The color accuracy performance of OPPO Pad 2 is remarkable among tablets. This screen with an average color cast of less than 2 at maximum brightness, under our usual 100-nit brightness test, the average color cast in natural mode is 2.8, the maximum color cast is 4.9, and the extreme value is much smaller than the previous generation. This generation of new professional reality modes, corresponding to the P3 color gamut, with an average color cast of 3.7.
The most prominent thing about this screen is actually the low brightness performance. In the 2048 level brightness adjustment, 418 levels are left below 30 nits. In terms of performance, OPPO Pad 2 is Dimensity 9000 with LPDDR5 memory + UFS 3.1 flash memory, which is the strongest CPU performance Android tablet solution today.

The actual performance output of OPPO Pad 2 is not in suspense - two full generations of the strong Snapdragon 870 (after all, the Snapdragon 865/870 are already 2 or 3 years old, but the Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 are hot). CPU, GPU, flash read and write performance, all greatly left the predecessor and friends of the Snapdragon 870, and the taillights cannot be seen. But after all, the Dimensity 9000 is also an SoC that can break 10W in a single CPU/GPU, and the body shape of the tablet has not completely suppressed it.
In actual use, when installing a large APP or running a game, the SoC heats up quite quickly, and the maximum temperature when baking the machine exceeds 45 degrees. But OPPO's location of the SoC is smart, and both the SoC and the charging IC are placed on the right side of the camera (when placed horizontally). Whether it's gaming or charging, whether it's a horizontal grip/vertical grip, you can't touch the heat source with your hands.
In terms of battery life, OPPO Pad 2 is the largest 11.61-inch screen with a 9510mAh battery dragging Dimensity 9000+. 200 nits screen brightness, after 30 minutes of "Peace Elite" (HDR HD + extreme frame rate + anti-aliasing), 30 minutes of B station 1080P video playback, 30 minutes of Weibo short video, 1 hour of Wi-Fi surfing, a total of 2.5 hours of battery life test, the remaining battery is 78%.
The OPPO Pad 2 is significantly better than its predecessor and Xiaomi Mi Tablet 5 Pro, not to mention the Redmi Pad of the MediaTek G99 and the iPad mini 6 of the A15 Max-Q. In fact, it should be compared to the iPad Pro 11-inch and 12.9-inch versions, but I was lazy before, and I can only make up for it later when I have time...
For large-screen tablets, the brightness of 200 nits is significantly higher, and if it is the commonly used 100 to 120 nits brightness, the battery life will be improved. As long as it's not a game all the time, the battery life is quite adequate.
In terms of charging, OPPO Pad 2 is a 9510mAh battery + 67W fast charge. The peak power is 57.5W, and it can fluctuate until after 5 minutes.
1% to 100% charging takes 1 hour and 8 minutes, 30 minutes can charge 58% of the charge, performance OK. The speed is close to the S23 Ultra (45W), which is faster than the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The charging speed of a tablet is similar to that of a 10,000-yuan international flagship mobile phone, which is not very harmful, but extremely insulting.
What is a 7:5 screen like?
To buy a tablet is to buy a screen, performance, and speakers. And to buy a high-end tablet is to add accessories, systems and multi-terminal collaboration.
A large part of the OPPO Pad 2 features this "largest 11.61-inch screen." Even if we have read countless machines, it is the first time to use a 7:5 screen device (it's really hard not to think of Find N/N2, whose screen ratio is also not according to the routine).
As we all know, the closer to the square (1:1), the larger the area of the quadrangle. Although the OPPO Pad 2 is numerically 11.61 inches, the 7:5 ratio results in its actual area being 10% larger than the 16:10 screen of the same size.
Let's convert the common screen ratios by pressing the OPPO Pad 2 (7:5) long side:
- Common mobile phones, 19:9 to 21:9, i.e. 7:3.3
- Normal iPad, 4:3, i.e. 7:5.3

The screen ratio of the OPPO Pad 2 is clearly designed to be close to the scale of A4 paper. The direct effect is that OPPO Pad 2 is really suitable for viewing scanned PDF e-books, which is really "tight", and it is really like a book when used to read books.
In terms of practical area, square-like screens are actually the most disadvantageous when watching video scenes (the most suitable is of course 18:9 or even 21:9 screens), but if you are for learning or productivity purposes, it is a different matter.

In addition to displaying a few more columns of text or other content when holding vertically, you can also display a few more lines of content when splitting the screen horizontally, and when splitting the screen vertically, you can make the upper and lower APP have a wider display area (watch the video/online course above, take notes below). To be reasonable, the 7:5 screen of the OPPO Pad 2 is indeed more practical than the 16:10 running on the street.

Face recognition: The front camera field of view is really wide, regardless of the holding direction is unlocked in seconds, and even if the light is not turned on, there is a good unlocking speed. But when you lay the desktop horizontally, there is no solution, if there is a habit of playing the tablet flat, it is recommended to put the tablet in reverse (let the upper border with the camera below), so that you can unlock it without picking up the tablet, at this time the power button and volume key are on the lower right side, which is also convenient to operate.
8.04cc Dolby Quad speakers: loud volumes, good back cover resonance control at loud volumes (although still vibrating). Needless to say, this level of tablet, treble sweet, midrange accuracy are the base exercise, there is no sound quality average (except iPad Air)
The combination of Dimensity 9000 and ColorOS 13.1 system (Android 13), I haven't experienced the smoothness of a flagship phone on an Android tablet for many years, and I was almost moved to cry (I really didn't cry).
In addition to CPU performance, 12G memory also has a significant bonus to fluency.
In the past 2 years, the memory requirements of the system and APP have been much higher: 6GB memory devices, really can only run WeChat, 8GB memory has also begun to "hand very tight", open a few more APP to clear the front background. To be productive, 12GB of memory is really needed now.
Take the current version of OPPO Pad 2 firmware (13.1.0.111) as an example, the remaining memory of the boot is about 7GB, WeChat opens an article is 6GB left, the mobile version of Chrome is also a memory destroyer, after the lemur browser installs the violent monkey, you can eat 500M memory when you open the home page of the B station and the hot man page, and a single video page can also eat 500M.
The rest of the APP does not have a big appetite, while opening WeChat, Kuan, Xiaohongshu, Taobao, B station HD version, Tencent Video, NetSuppression Cloud, Fox Monkey browser, OPPO Pad 2 can also have more than 3GB of memory left. In addition to minor problems such as the border being too narrow and often touching by mistake (the border is really annoying, Faye Wong's face is .jpg), the system is now quite complete, and it has surpassed most of its competitors.
But personal expectations for it are quite high (I hope it can replace the laptop light office), engineers can consider these features/improvements if they see it:
- Remove the limit on the number of individual floating windows in the system, or even completely release the window size limit, and add vertical split screen and raised hand lighting
- Let the number of apps that are forced to lock can exceed 6, make the background residency strategy a little more aggressive, and open the keyboard combination shortcut to customization

The new OPPO Pencil is now 2ms with the lowest latency, 240Hz sampling rate + 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity + 0 to 60 degrees of lateral writing, and there is no problem with the functional specifications.
After connecting the pen, the screen will automatically switch to 120Hz adaptive, the trigger force is not large, the water pressure is only 5g, and you can write if you have gas. But after all, it's not painting up, we won't beep much.

Except for the lack of keyboard backlighting, the rest are quite satisfactory. At the same time, to reiterate our opinion on Cover – a Keyboard Cover without a trackpad is soulless!
Magnetic back cover + contact connection, 120 degrees fixed elevation angle, the edge has a large arc without clanging, the keyboard turns to the back automatically broken chain will not be accidentally touched (nonsense), the trackpad and keys can wake up the screen. The trackpad of OPPO Pad 2, 81.3x43mm, is not large, globally can be pressed, the pressing pressure is moderate, and there is no virtual position. The main plus points are two:
- Although fruity, the cursor, automatic adsorption and following animation are indeed extremely delicate and comfortable. To put it mildly, most Win notebook trackpads can't do this level.
- Trackpad gestures support enough: there are two-finger zoom, four-finger pinch to turn the APP into a floating window, three-finger tap to return to the previous level, three-finger swipe up to return to the desktop, three-finger swipe left and right to switch before and after the application (if the animation is smooth and more detailed, it is better), three-finger swipe up to stay in multitasking, three-finger slide screenshot.
In notebook form, isn't the trackpad thousands of times more convenient than raising your hand to point at the screen? With more intuitive trackpad gestures, you don't have to pin your finger to press shortcuts.
Install a lemur browser, oil monkey/violent monkey these daily plug-ins, with trackpad and keyboard, rounding up is a PC-level browser experience.
And to be reasonable, the OPPO Pad 2 set is much smoother than Arm+Win's "Xiaomi Mi Notebook 12.4 two-in-one" running chrome.

At this point in time in March 2023, the status of OPPO Pad 2 is unique, which is a question of whether there is a choice:

The 11.61-inch 2.8K 7:5 LCD screen of "imitation A4 paper" is indeed suitable for scenarios such as reading/surfing/codewords, and the keyboard cover with trackpad is also quite practical.
Although there are still many system features that I would like to add, I would still like to call it "iPad Air Advanced Replacement".
