This summer, I traveled to North Korea and wanted to talk about my experience. Traveling to North Korea can only be done with a group. The trip cost 2,500 yuan and spent four days in North Korea. To date, North Korea is still practicing a planned economy. People live less stressfully and have a relatively high happiness index. In North Korea, the price level is also very low, with a pound of pork equivalent to about 3 yuan. In China, however, pork prices have been ridiculously high this year. At the highest, lean meat reached more than 40 yuan a pound, and now it is still more than 30 yuan a pound. Especially when the price of pork rises, many other things also rise, and many people say they can't afford it.
Noodles in North Korea cost only about 2 yuan, and the prices of many goods are very low, similar to those in China decades ago. The per capita monthly income of large cities here is about 500 yuan, and the monthly income of ordinary workers is about 300 yuan. Because of the low price level, 300 yuan a month is enough to live.
So in such a cheap place, 100 yuan to North Korea should buy a lot of things. This is not the case, as foreigners visiting North Korea can only shop at certain foreign stores that are separate from the shopping markets of local North Korean residents. The hotels or places where they live are largely separated from the local North Korean population. Therefore, North Korea's low prices cannot be enjoyed by foreigners.
In fact, the catering standards of foreign shops and hotels are similar to those of domestic second-tier cities, and 100 yuan for traveling to North Korea cannot buy much. But North Korea has a lot of shadows of China. Traveling to North Korea is a special flavor. Because China still helps North Korea a lot every year, North Koreans are very hospitable to Chinese.
