Peru Flight 508 crashed, the plane fell 3,000 meters, all 91 people on board were killed, a 17-year-old girl survived and walked out of the rainforest!

On September 28, 1986, a Peruvian Airlines aircraft, called Peruvian Flight 508, took off from Lima for Iquitos in the Amazon rainforest. While flying through the air, it encountered a strong thunderstorm that caused the plane to lose its balance and crash into the Amazon rainforest. The crash killed 91 people, with only one 17-year-old girl alive.

The girl, Juliana Kopke, was a German born in Lima, and she and her parents were researchers at the Piura River Research Center in Peru at the time, intending to travel from Lima, Peru, to the Piura plateau on an expedition.

At first, everything was normal, everyone talked and laughed on the plane, and when the plane climbed to an altitude of 8,000 meters, lightning wrapped in thunderstorms began to rage, and the turbulent air flow blocked the passage of the plane.

A sudden lightning bolt pierced the right wing of the plane, all the passengers began to scream and cry, the plane began to quickly bump and dive, accelerating and falling from an altitude of 8,000 meters in half a minute, Juliana was beside her mother, she desperately grabbed her mother's hand and waited for the judgment of fate.

The plane plunged into the rainforest, a large crater was blown out of the ground, the wreckage was scattered in a dense rainforest, some passengers were tightly fastened to their seats, others were ejected from the plane, Juliana and her mother fell in the same place, Juliana's father fell to another place.

Juliana slowly woke up, surrounded by the smell of burnt, she felt badly injured, her body ached, her glasses were shattered, blood flowed through her head, and her legs and arms were injured. When she came to her full senses, she found herself lying in a desolate rainforest, surrounded by ruins and corpses.

Juliana kept trying to shout her mother and father's names, but received no response, and then she found her mother's hand in the wreckage, her mother was no longer breathing, and her father was dead.

What's even more terrifying is that she found that everyone was dead, and she was the only one left at the scene, and the scene was like purgatory on earth. Juliana tries to call for help, but her voice is drowned out by the leaves and the sound of water deep in the rainforest, so she decides to get out of the trap herself.

Juliana picks up some essentials, including some chocolates, a bottle of Coke, and some candy, and sets off on a long journey of survival. Following her father's advice, she followed the stream and headed downstream. For the next few days, she continued to follow the stream, often taking fresh fruit from the trees and fishing in the stream with a small wooden stick.

On the tenth day, Juliana reached a waterfall, and because she had no experience, she didn't know how to go down. She sets up a humble camp by the waterfall, and Juliana is constantly looking for a way to escape while waiting.

She herself had no particular survival training, but her father, a well-known ecologist and naturalist, had shared many survival tips with her. She began collecting plants from the rainforest and using them to relieve her injuries. She found that a plant called the leafy spider orchid relieved her headaches and leg pain.

After 11 days of waiting, Juliana heard some distant voices. She walked towards the sound and eventually found a small river with a fishing boat moored on it. She was rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Juliana's story caused a sensation around the world. Her life is still a miracle, but also a story about human willpower and survivability. Juliana, who later became a biologist, returned to the rainforest to conduct research and wrote a book about her experiences.

The Peruvian Flight 508 crash was a very serious air crash, and after the black box of the plane was found, investigators found that the cause of the crash was thunderstorm weather and mechanical failure, and the pilots of the plane did not adopt the correct flight attitude, causing the plane to crash.

Juliana was extremely lucky to survive, so to speak, walking back and forth from hell, on the one hand, her seat in the crash was protected by the wreckage of the plane, avoiding the danger of direct impact; On the other hand, she was able to survive the crash thanks to her youth and good physical condition.
