Personally, North Koreans live in houses that look good on the outside. But the decoration inside is very basic. The North Korean house we visited was about 100 square meters. There is an elevator in the residential building, but the elevator is relatively old, and the shaking is more severe during the ascent. After visiting the house, I found that the decoration of the houses of North Koreans was very different from that in China. There is no domestic Nordic, modern, American style. Their décor is very plain.
North Koreans' living rooms usually have televisions and electric fans, and portraits of leaders on the walls. Secondly, I also saw bicycles and simple sofas in the living room. There are also calendars and clocks hanging on the walls of the living room. North Koreans seem to be very fond of hanging clocks on their walls. And in the bedroom, I saw sewing machines and simple bookcases. Wallpaper is pasted on the walls of the bedrooms. In the bedroom, I also saw a computer, but strangely, the computer did not have a network cable.
Finally, we also had a tour of the kitchen. North Korean kitchens, unlike domestic stoves, seem to like to squat on the ground to cook. The hob is very low. In the kitchen, I also saw a cistern, in addition to many bottles and jars, which are said to be very popular with pickled kimchi by North Korean women, and these bottles and jars are very useful. In general, the living environment of North Koreans is average, similar to that of some old communities in the country.
