Chile: First case of otter infection with avian influenza detected
On March 7, 2023, Chile's National Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture announced that laboratory personnel had detected avian influenza viruses in an otter carcass found in the Arica region. This is the first case of otter infection with avian influenza detected in Chile.

DRC: The government signed a ceasefire agreement with the rebel M23
