At 11:30 on January 16, tide stations in Chile, Japan and other countries on the Pacific coast detected tsunami waves ranging from 30 cm to 150 cm.

Tsunami waves were detected in the early morning of the 16th in China's coastal waters, of which the largest tsunami amplitude of Zhejiang Shipu Station was about 20 cm.
