Observing nature has been my hobby since childhood, and I followed my grandfather in kindergarten to climb mountains and forests in Hangzhou to see animals, and it can be said that wild boars, rabbits, snakes, weasel badgers and other animals there are my "old friends". Since the film era, I have loved photographing all kinds of animals and plants, and I remember when I was in the fifth grade of elementary school, my teacher gave me a report card that said "I love photography".
I can't remember shooting animals for the first time, but when I went to South Africa in 2012, I felt like I was in the "animal world" for the first time. We went whale watching in Hermanus and Kruger National Park, Cape Town's brightest place, South Africa's largest animal sanctuary, larger than Israel.
In fact, many birds and other animals can be seen in the city, but many people ignore it. There are about 1,400 bird species recorded in our country, and more than 500 bird species have been recorded in Beijing, accounting for more than one-third.
I think birds in the wild should pay attention to these two points first, the first is to understand the relevant knowledge of birds, otherwise they may "do bad things with good intentions"; The second is to have a certain outdoor experience, sometimes in the mountains around the city and in the suburban reservoirs, people will also be trapped, so in the wild birds must be responsible for their own safety.
Of course it will! My winning work in the China Wildlife Image Annual Competition was 30 species of wild animals captured with my mobile phone in the city. Because ordinary people will not use hundreds of thousands of professional equipment to shoot in the wilderness, you can shoot a lot of wild animals with a mobile phone in the city. In addition, mobile phone photography can make us feel that wild animals coexist with us in a city; Mobile phones are also one of the fastest ways to capture wildlife in our daily lives.
Now that the child is still young, she will take her to play outdoors together, and I feel that she also likes to run outside, so I will teach her more wild animals and plants and knowledge by the way, and explore her own interests naturally.
In addition, I will tell myself: if you can't control what others say about you, then at least you can control your emotional feedback. When others have some negative comments about me, although it will hurt people, but slowly make yourself stronger inside, even if their words are very negative, it is very important that "no matter what he says, it will not hurt me", there is nothing wrong with doing what interests you.
I have traveled to every continent in the world, and now I will focus more on some wild animals and their popular science content in China, because we have many endemic species in China, and I want more friends who like animals to know about them. The near-term plan is to photograph snow leopards in our national park, and the long-term plan is to go to the Galapagos on the other side of the globe – the place where Darwin reveals the origin of the species and where the animal species is also special.
