Sam Brinton, a former U.S. Department of Energy "non-binary" official who lost his job after being charged with stealing luggage twice, is back in trouble. He was clearly wearing clothes in public, and was also identified as stealing.

According to the US conservative media Fox News Network reported on February 22, Asya Khamsin, a Tanzanian female fashion designer living in Houston, USA, said that the clothes worn in the Brenton News picture were her own custom clothes, which came from her luggage lost at Washington Airport in 2018, and she has called the police.

At present, Brenton has not been formally charged with Hamsin's lost luggage.

As one of the Biden administration's first "non-binary" officials, Brinton is a nuclear engineer and LGBTQ activist who demands vague "they/them" to refer to himself rather than "he" or "she."

In June last year, Brinton began working in the U.S. Department of Energy's Nuclear Energy Office in charge of spent fuel and waste disposal, but left his post last December after being charged with the felony of stealing luggage at two U.S. airports. Brenton, who currently faces jail time and hefty fines for alleged crimes, has both cases pending, and he was provisionally released last week after appearing in court in Minnesota, where he was asked not to contact any of his victims.

But his theft scandal isn't over. Recently, Tanzanian fashion designer Asya Hamsin tweeted that after seeing the news that Brinton was accused of theft, she was surprised to find that the clothes in the Brinton news picture were her own custom clothes, and these clothes were lost at Washington Airport in 2018.

Hamsin released comparative photos, including that of Brinton in February 2019, when he attended a summit at United Nations headquarters.

Some people wonder, why does the position of the pattern in the center of the neckline look different? Subsequently, other netizens speculated that Brinton was deviated and the pattern arrangement was the same.

It was also pointed out that the dress did not have sleeves in the strict sense of the word, so it could be flipped.

More serious netizens went to Hamsing's March 2018 Instagram to confirm that she did ever have the same model.

Under the reminder of netizens, Hamsin released more pictures of Brinton and the clothes he designed suspected of being "colliding".

Brinton's wearing style is different from Hamsing's design, which is why it is impossible to easily tell at first glance whether it is exactly the same.

In fact, as early as last December, Hamsin posted a "same" compilation on Instagram, accusing Brinton of stealing her suitcase, but it was only recently that she tweeted that she attracted widespread attention.

While many foreign netizens were grieving for Hamsin, memes also came into being.

Hamsingh's husband said they had reported the incident to airport police and filed a claim with Delta Air Lines when they lost their luggage in 2018, but the box was never found.

After suspecting that Brinton had stolen the suitcase, they reported it to Houston police on December 16, and in late January, Hamsing received a call from the FBI's Minneapolis office asking for information about the case, but was not informed of the progress of the case, and it was unclear whether the investigation had begun or was put on hold.

Forbes News said that as of the evening of February 22, local time, Brinton has not been formally charged with Hamsing's lost luggage. Brinton's lawyer also did not respond to the matter.
