The site of Kamatsudo was excavated in 1989. In 1991, under the guidance of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, the provincial, prefectural and municipal cultural relics departments formed a joint archaeological excavation team to comprehensively and scientifically clean up and excavate the site, and completely unearthed four iron bull statues, four iron man statues, two iron mountains, four iron upsetting pillars, one group of seven-star iron pillars, more than 70 meters of revetment stone embankments in the Ming Dynasty, and a monument in the 16th year of Ming Zhengde (1521) cast in the 12th year of Tang Kaiyuan (724).
The four iron bulls are the earliest, largest, heaviest, largest and most refined ferryport iron bulls discovered so far, and are major discoveries of the achievements of ancient Chinese civilization.
