Dubrovnik, meaning "oak forest", ancient name "Ragusa". Port city in southern Croatia, largest tourist center and health resort, capital of Neretva Voivodeship. It has an area of 364 square kilometers and a population of about 60,000. Dubrovnik is known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic" and the "City Museum", and was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979.
