Polar stratospheric clouds are a leeward wave cloud type, very rare, often appear at high latitudes, 20~30km above the ground, but the atmosphere here is unusually dry, generally difficult to form clouds, so its appearance requires extremely low temperatures, it has a more grounded name - mother-of-pearl clouds, these clouds are rare and unique - they mainly appear in winter in Scandinavia, Iceland, Alaska and northern Canada and other high latitudes. However, sometimes they appear in the south of England. They are so bright after sunset and before dawn because at those heights they are still exposed to sunlight.
