Spring Festival White Moon

From the 15th day of the lunar month, people will prepare a lot of delicacies to welcome the Spring Festival. The Mongolian language of Spring Festival is called "Chagansarri", which means "white moon". Spring Festival is the largest festival of the year for the Mongolian people, and legend has it that it is related to white milk food, which means blessing and auspiciousness, so buying New Year goods is naturally indispensable for milk food. The Mongolian people regard white as a pure and auspicious color, and most admire white. In addition to respecting each other's white hata during the Spring Festival, the top of the yurt and clothing were also changed to white in ancient times. In modern times, everyone has changed into colorful holiday costumes and celebrated the New Year beautifully.

Spring Festival and Fire Festival

The festival is the prelude to the Spring Festival, and most of Inner Mongolia is the 23rd festival of the lunar month. It is said that in ancient times, some tribes delayed the fire sacrifice day because of long-distance migration and one day of postponement to reach their destination, and formed the habit of offering fire on the 24th day of the lunar month.

On the day of the fire festival, the Mongolians put Amusu (cream porridge), wine, snacks, tea, dried red dates, and other delicious things on the platform where the wind and horse flag are hanged, clean the fire platform and light the sacred fire (if it is not cleaned up, the Vulcan Lord will be angry), and then put the sheep breastbone and other foods for sacrifice, kowtow and worship, and do not extinguish for three days and three nights.

In addition, before the New Year, you should try to return the borrowed money and goods, and it is forbidden to bring debts into the New Year. After the festival, no more loans are available throughout the Spring Festival.

Spring Festival costumes

Just like the customs of the Han people during the Spring Festival, the Mongolians also wear new national costumes to welcome the arrival of the Spring Festival at the annual "White Festival". Every Spring Festival, the whole family will wear festive costumes and gather together to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Mongolian hats are considered the first of Mongolian costumes. The Mongolian proverb "Two people walk the elder is big, and one person walks the hat is big" also fully reflects the place of the hat in their hearts. Not wearing a hat is considered incomplete, so the polite Mongols wear solemn hats on solemn occasions.

There are many types of Mongolian winter hats, initially sewn from mink, fox skin, sheepskin, and then cotton, linen, silk and other fabrics, and the form of hats is enriched. Although the hats of the Mongolian tribes have their own personalities and characteristics, they are generally the same. From the style, it can be divided into: "eagle" hat, dome brimmed hat, pointed brimmed hat, wind and snow hat, Taurchik hat, turban, etc.

From the sewn materials can be divided into: leather hats, felt hats, cloth hats, lambskin hats, fox fur hats, mink hats and so on. The "eagle" hat is the oldest traditional hat of the Mongolian people, named after the perched eagle, and is a winter hat sewn with fur. The "eagle" hat has a pointed and a dome. The origin of the "eagle" hat is related to the fact that some tribes of the Mongolian people regard the Haidong blue bird as a totem.

Spring Festival Chinese New Year's Eve

Chinese New Year's Eve night was lit up and the young people gathered to sing and dance. Girls who do not participate in the song and dance gather to play "shaha" (galaha), and it is common to observe the year until midnight.

Chinese New Year's Eve is the day of closure and the day of reunion. The day before Chinese New Year's Eve, the Mongols clean the room and lavish it with vanilla. On the night of Chinese New Year's Eve, the family drank milk tea, mare's milk wine, sheep's head, hand-held meat, dairy products, dumplings and pies in a yurt. Raise the wine glass high, wish my father and mother good health, wish the grassland water and grass abundant, and the cattle and sheep fat. The house is full of strong tea, strong wine, and full of strong love, which is lively until the early morning of the first day of the new year.

Spring Festival Five Animals

It is worth mentioning that the five animals also celebrate the New Year, and Mongolian herders call horses, cattle, goats, sheep and camels the five animals. Chinese New Year's Eve night, the number of livestock must be counted, and other people's livestock cannot be allowed to spend the night in their own house. On the morning of the first day of the new year, the elders spread fresh milk and butter on the heads of the leading sheeps to ensure that people and animals can prosper and live a prosperous life. You cannot yell at the animals, let alone beat the animals, and when the animals return in the evening, the owner holds fresh milk in his hand and reads blessings to greet them.
