According to the Myanmar National Meteorological and Hydrological Management Department, on the morning of January 15, a 4.4-magnitude earthquake occurred in the town of Bikid Stick, Mandalay City, Mandalay Province.

At 10:33:08 on January 15, the Mandalay Earthquake Monitoring Center detected a 4.4-magnitude earthquake with a focal depth of 10 kilometers in the town of Bikid in Mandalay City.

Local people in Mandalay said it was like being pulled and shaken. I heard that the earthquake in Sagay City is also more obvious. On social networking sites, information posted by netizens showed that the towns of Madya, Kyaukshi, Pyin Ulun, Dedaou, Inwa, etc. around Mandalay City all felt the tremor.

On December 15, 2022, five more aftershocks struck the town of Dedaou, Mandalay. After the earthquake, there were pagodas, Buddhas, temples, statues, etc. in the Minkou area, Mandalay city, Sagaing city, Dedaou town, and Inwa area.
