At a time when there is no way out, the newly issued Opinions of the General Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province on Accelerating the High-quality Development of Modern Fisheries (hereinafter referred to as the Opinions) issued in May 2022 have brought new ideas for the development of Zhulou Village.
The "Opinions" mentioned that it is necessary to promote the green and healthy development of fisheries from four aspects: promoting the upgrading and transformation of aquaculture ponds, promoting ecological and healthy aquaculture models, comprehensively strengthening the supervision of aquatic product quality and safety, and building a good ecological space for fishery production and life. Strengthening tailwater treatment can further promote the ecology, landscape and leisure transformation of traditional aquaculture farms, and develop industries such as sightseeing fishery, fishing experience, leisure fishing, popular science education, and cultural health, which is just in line with the development positioning of Sankeng Town to build a "characteristic hot spring health +" all-round tourism characteristic town.
"Qiu's goldfish is a local agricultural specialty product in Sankeng Town, and goldfish culture, as a kind of fine farming, is very suitable as a pilot species for tailwater treatment." The prototype of the "Goldfish Village" has emerged, and the small goldfish have stirred up the rural economy. At present, Zhulou Village has carried out goldfish aquaculture in an orderly manner, with Qiu's Aquatic Products providing seedlings, technology and recycling services, and the village uses idle fish ponds for daily aquaculture management, and develops goldfish aquaculture characteristic industries, and has achieved the expected results. At the beginning of 2022, 50,000 fish fry were stocked in Zhulou Village.
