Julie V. Harding, a high-profile female captain of the California Highway Patrol, experienced the tragedy of her 53-year-old husband Michael Harding being shot and killed at the end of September, and the whole case arrested a male suspect on December 8.
According to a number of US media reports, 49-year-old Julie is the captain of the California Highway Patrol. Since joining the Force in 1999, she has performed well and worked her way up the ranks, and in 2018 she was promoted to Patrol Captain with a promising future.
However, Julie's work is based in California, and her husband, Michael Harding, 53, lives in Tennessee, and according to Mike's friend Preston Cleary, the couple's marriage has gone awry, and Mike has asked Julie for divorce.
In September this year, Mike was shot and killed in Kentucky, and although Julie was saddened to learn the news, she turned her grief and anger into strength and did her duty to make her superiors and colleagues admire, and the murder made significant progress until December 8, Kentucky State Police teamed up with Tennessee and the FBI to investigate and arrest Thomas O'Donnell, a 60-year-old man involved.
On the same day that O'Donnell was arrested, Julie was also arrested in Tennessee, according to the Tennessee police, Julie had illegally sneaked into the house of her husband's girlfriend, who was still dating before his death, and stole her husband's dog in early October, all captured by surveillance cameras, but Julie was released soon after her arrest. However, on December 10, Julie was found dead in front of her home in Celina, Tennessee, where she and Mike once lived, with no signs of homicide.
According to Cleary breaking the news to the media, Julie died of a gunshot wound, and left a note with the words, "Mike, I think you won", Cleary believes that Julie hired a killer to murder her husband, "I believe she planned for months", California police are currently unwilling to respond to whether Julie Harting was involved in her husband's murder and whether she committed suicide.
