Arequipa/Cusco 📍
Fly to Cusco and relax and acclimatize to the altitude there upon arrival, with the option to walk through the Inca capital.
Day 8️⃣
Cusco 📍
The Cusco tour begins with a hike to see Qorikancha, the most sacred sun temple of the Incas, before heading to the Inca Museum, close to Cusco's main square. In the afternoon, explore Sacsayhuaman, a great fortress outside the city, whose walls are made of huge limestone blocks brought in by thousands of workers from nearby quarries. Then travel from Sacsayhuaman to the Q'enco Archaeological Complex, five kilometers away, which is small and mainly used to observe the movements of planets and stars.
Day 9️⃣
Cusco 📍
Head to Tipón, 22 kilometers southeast of Cusco, a beautifully located and massive Inca archaeological site built in the early 15th century, near the village of Tipón, 3,250 to 3,960 meters above sea level, surrounded by several ruins of a powerful defensive wall about 6 kilometers long, the iconic part of the park consists of a set of precise and right-angled monumental Inca terraces system. After lunch, visit The Temple of Viracocha in Raqchi, built mainly of mud bricks on stone foundations.
