The arrival of late October means that migrating herring are about to arrive in Nord-land, Norway, about 250 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. Schools of herring are followed by hundreds of hungry killer whales.

These killer whales spend months tracking cold currents, scouting fjords and hunting herring. They hunt by hunting schools of globular fish – these silver fish are grouped together, hit hard with their tails, and then eat the knocked unconscious fish.
