Martinique is an island that may be unfamiliar to many people. In fact, before I came, I also opened the world map for half a day to find it. However, don't forget that this French territory in the Eastern Caribbean was known as the most beautiful country in the world when Columbus landed in 1493. Martinique has long been the Mecca of tourists for its stunning natural beauty. At the same time, Martinique is located in the hinterland of the Caribbean Sea, surrounded by many countries and regions, and has a unique geographical environment. If you're cruising the Caribbean on a cruise, Martinique is a better port of departure than Miami. Cruise to the Caribbean from Miami often involves cruising at sea for a few days, which is a waste of time. But if you set off in Martinique, you will not have this phenomenon, basically you can go ashore every day and visit different countries and regions. I got on the cruise in Martinique this time. On the day I went, I was too tired, so I stayed in the hotel in the morning to rest, and in the afternoon I boarded the boat directly and did not go out to visit. It wasn't until seven days later, when the first flight ended and the cruise returned to Martinique, that I started touring Martinique. In Martinique, the most expensive Caribbean country I have traveled to, the driver offered 200 euros, and finally bargained for 200 US dollars. However, these two hundred dollars are the least worth it. There's nothing to see in Martinique's island tour. The weather was not good on this day, with non-stop showers and gray skies. I have seen too many churches, and the Church of the Sacred Heart copied from French soil is not special. Going to see the rocky creek? That's a bit far-fetched to be an attraction! It's even more boring to go to a factory that produces rum! Go to the beach, right? Martinique's beaches are mostly black sand with volcanic ash, and these beaches don't look beautiful. Plus it's raining and the weather is cool, where else is interested in swimming in the sea?! Martinique is also an island surrounded by tropical rainforest, but its natural scenery is far inferior to that of Greenat. Greenert can be said to be a botanical garden, full of exotic flowers and plants, and many more gorgeous. The vegetation types of Martinique are not as rich as Greenert, and the mountains are full of sugar cane, bananas, palms, and polo, which is a bit monotonous. So, Martinique can only be described as a plantation. There is no wildlife other than snakes and birds in the tropical jungle. At noon, the driver took me to a small town called Saint Pire. The town was destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1902 and remains in ruins today. The town is still worth hanging out. Visit the local farmers' market and grab a hot cup of coffee at an open-air café to get a taste of the lazy life of the locals. In the afternoon, I instructed the driver not to take me back to the cruise terminal, but to Fort France in Martinique. The centre of Fort-de-France is a long time from the cruise terminal, a twenty or thirty-minute walk away. In fact, there is no need to visit Martinique anywhere else, it is enough to visit Fort France. The charm of this capital city lies in its blend of French and Cleo culture. It is a place where the two atmospheres of Parisian fashion and Caribbean idleness collide. The streets are full of trendy boutiques selling popular French products. Those vibrant markets mix French melodies with local Zucker music. It is worth mentioning that there are many Chinese doing business here, and there are also many Chinese restaurants. Ha ha! I really want to go into a Chinese restaurant and order a stir-fried vegetable heart with garlic. Don't rush! I'll be here again in a week and sigh at the world.
