Preliminary testing revealed that the dead turtle was a green turtle (Chelonia mydas), male, about 20 years old, with a shell length and width of 90 x 96.5 cm. In addition, the examination also found that the green turtle was severely decomposed, but no external wounds were found. The staff found a large amount of marine debris in the turtle, such as iron nails, fishing nets, nylon ropes and plastic sheets, which accumulated and blocked its intestines.
