Danish auction house Bruun Rasmussen will hold a new season of jewelry auctions in Copenhagen

On December 1, Danish auction house Bruun Rasmussen will hold its new season of jewelry auctions in Copenhagen, presenting a total of 208 lots.

The focus of the auction is a sapphire crown that once belonged to Princess Thyra of Denmark. Crafted from 14K yellow, rose gold and silver, this piece is set with rose and old mine-cut diamonds and decorated with lilies set with five 15.61ct curved-cut Sri Lankan sapphires, the largest weighing 8.9ct. Also noteworthy is an emerald bracelet originally belonging to Queen Alexandrine Auguste of Denmark, made in 1920 by the Royal Danish jeweler A. Michelsen in a typical Art Deco style. Platinum and diamonds depict hexagonal ornamentation, and the center stone alternates with five sugarloaf hill-cut emeralds and four old mine-cut diamonds, identified as originating in Colombia.
