Mr. Qian Mu mentioned in the introduction to the "Outline of National History": "Chinese history is like a poem, and Western history is like a drama. Each act of a play has its own very different changes. The poem, on the other hand, only moves to a new stage in a harmonious rhythm, which is inseparable. Western history is like a few wonderful hard-court tennis matches, and Chinese history is always a melodious piano. "It is not difficult to see that the highly balanced civilization characteristics of Chinese civilization are an important reason for its continuity and vitality. Because of the differences between different civilizations, Eastern and Western countries often have different perceptions of the same thing. There is a certain difference between the understanding of the concept of "modernization" between the East and the West. Not to mention that the concept of "Chinese-style modernization" is even less understood in the international community. Therefore, how to better explain this concept to the international community is a focus of our future work.

In the new era, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, we adhere to and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics, promote the coordinated development of material, political, spiritual, social and ecological civilizations, create a new path of Chinese-style modernization, and create a new form of human civilization. "The aroma of wine is still afraid of the deep alley", and how to better talk about "Chinese-style modernization" has become a top priority.

I am an international relations researcher, my research direction mainly focuses on the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road", I have traveled to nearly 100 countries over the years, measured the world with my steps, touched history with my fingertips, and the deepest feeling I felt during the million-kilometer journey was to be glad that I lived in a great China and lived in a great era. It also made me deeply feel the similarities and differences between Chinese civilization and world civilization, and also felt more deeply that more exchanges and mutual learning are needed between Eastern and Western civilizations.

On the top of a Palestinian hill in the West Bank, I saw many homeless Palestinians, and because of the conflict between Palestine and Israel, many local people had no electricity, no water, and even their self-built houses were bulldozed. In Ramallah, the temporary capital of Palestine, I met several Palestinian students returning home from school who spoke to me with a longing for the unknown. When I talk about Chinese cities and Chinese schools, the children listen attentively. They also look forward to living in a country like China, with smart cities, highways, electronic payments, modern life, without worrying about their own safety and the future of the country. Here, I also saw a large number of Chinese figures, not only Chinese mobile phone manufacturers, but also Chinese clothing brands, and Chinese solar energy facilities. This is also one of the cores of Chinese-style modernization, and China follows the path of peaceful development. Over the years, we have adhered to the concept of "consultation, co-construction and sharing" to help countries interconnect and build a community with a shared future for mankind is not a slogan, and China is working hard to put it into practice. After going through the years, I realized that the world is not perfect, but we live in a country that is getting stronger and stronger. "Poor people are good for themselves, and good people are good for the world", Chinese-style modernization has not only promoted China's rapid development, but also helped the world to make common progress through inclusiveness, openness, and peaceful development.

Needless to say, what has struck me the most over the years is that there is a huge difference between the East and the West, Chinese I don't know the West, and the West doesn't know enough about China. Therefore, in many different fields, there are often fierce debates between the East and the West, and it is even full of misunderstanding and hatred of China in Western countries. The passage is easy and difficult to understand, and for the same thing, the angle of standing is different, and the conclusions reached are very different.

In the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping expounded the characteristics of Chinese-style modernization: Chinese-style modernization is a modernization with a huge population, a modernization of common prosperity for all the people, a modernization that coordinates material civilization and spiritual civilization, a modernization in which man and nature live in harmony, and a modernization that takes the path of peaceful development.

This fully shows that Chinese-style modernization is based on China's national conditions and has Chinese characteristics. The concept of Chinese-style modernization has a deep foundation in Chinese culture. The excellent traditional Chinese culture is the root and soul of the Chinese nation, and Chinese-style modernization is rooted in the fertile soil of Chinese culture, reflects the will of the Chinese people, and adapts to the development and progress requirements of China and the times, and has a profound historical origin and a broad mass foundation.

As we all know, the development of human society is diverse, and all civilizations in the world have their own origins, and in the long river of thousands of years, a hundred flowers have blossomed and are inclusive. Ancient Chinese civilization has different origins from ancient Egypt, ancient Babylon and ancient India, and its development paths and development methods are also different. It is not difficult to see that different civilizations often choose different paths of development among themselves, and the great Chinese people have inherited and carried forward the spirit of innovation and struggle of their ancestors, and created a new path of Chinese-style modernization on the basis of the existing Chinese material and spiritual civilization.

In layman's terms, Chinese-style modernization contains the way of unification and stability; The Diversity and Oneness Way; an inclusive and open approach; the ethics of responsibility; The Way of Peace in China. Shoes are uncomfortable, only the feet know best, and each country has a path suitable for the development of each country. Practice shows that Chinese-style modernization is in line with China's reality, embodies the law of socialist construction, and embodies the law of the development of human society.

Today's world is undergoing major changes unprecedented in a century, and the international situation is turbulent. The game of big countries is becoming increasingly fierce, and the struggle of international public opinion is becoming increasingly complex. In the new historical period, we need to actively explore our international communication channels and strive for greater international discourse power through diversified methods. To be able to tell the world our development philosophy and our development ideas on different platforms. Be able to win more friends and maximize the benefits of development. Only by adhering to the mentality of diversity and integration, openness and inclusiveness can we better dialogue with the world, so that Western countries can better understand the uniqueness of Chinese-style modernization and what Chinese-style modernization can bring to the world.

Long sails should break the waves sometimes, and hang directly on the clouds and sails to the sea. Creating a credible, lovely and respectable image of China requires the joint efforts of all Chinese, and "Chinese-style modernization" has pointed out the future direction for us and brought us the impetus to move forward. We can proudly say that Chinese-style modernization provides a new option for mankind to achieve modernization.
