Changshan county planted 116,000 mu of pomelo (pomelo), and 100,000 people participated in planting, production and sales, directly driving farmers to increase their income by 560 million yuan, and the total output value is expected to exceed 3.5 billion yuan in 2022.

Pomelo harvest
On November 21, in the 317-acre "Gongfu Orchard" in Feiyu Village, Qingshi Town, Changshan County, yellow pomelo trees were hanging all over the branches, and pomelo farmers were shuttling among the fruit trees, busy picking, and a bumper harvest scene.
"It is expected to be able to pick more than 700,000 jin, overcome the impact of drought this year, the yield will not decrease, and the rate of fine fruits will increase by 30% compared with last year." Jiang Jufang, a village official, said that if it was good to sell, the pomelo was booked out before it was picked.
Most of the young villagers in Feiyu Village went to the city to work, the orchard was supervised by the elderly, and the technology, labor and pomelo quality could not keep up, and they could not earn a few dollars a year after hard work.
What to do? The way to grow pomelo needs to change. Last year, the village implemented the "common wealth orchard" model of "two mountain cooperatives + business entities + village collectives + farmers", and 195 villagers invested in the orchard, in addition to the average rental income of about 3,000 yuan per mu, they could also participate in the management of orchards to receive salaries, and the village collective income was also significantly improved, and "one land with more gold" became a reality.
In Changshan, the number of pomelo "Gongfu Orchards" like Feiyu Village has grown to 8, with a planting area of 2,020 mu. Changshan's "Two Mountains Cooperative" participated in the collection and storage of orchards and the purchase of pomelo, unified the "Yuzumi 80+" brand, and sold through channels such as Hema Fresh and Dingdong to buy vegetables, directly generating 4.51 million yuan for farmers.
"By building a good garden and planting good fruits, the 'Gongfu Orchard' truly incorporates pomelo farmers into the industrial chain and becomes partners and beneficiaries of industrial development." Yang Xingliang, deputy director of the Changshan County Agriculture and Rural Bureau, said.
Changshan pomelo cultivation is one of the leading industries of local traditional agriculture. The year before last, Changshan issued the "Action Plan for the High-quality Development of Hupo Industry", focusing on the whole chain of planting, research and development, processing, marketing and tourism of the pomelo (pomelo) industry, and promoting the integrated development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries.
In Yang Xingliang's view, this systematic thinking and innovative approach can fully tap the multiple values of the whole life cycle of pomelo, "It is a road of integrated development of the whole industrial chain, the whole factor chain and the whole value chain." ”
Along the whole industrial chain upward trace, a good seedling is the foundation for the quality of pomelo to leap.
In the Changshan Pomelo Seedling Breeding Center, 50,000 pomelo seedlings are growing well in six tall digital seedling greenhouses. "We supply high-quality seedlings to growers throughout the county at cost prices to ensure that Changshan pomelo is 'rooted'." Hong Shuping, the base manager of the breeding center, is quite proud. So far, the coverage rate of fine seeds in Changshan County has reached 95%.
Extending down the whole industry chain, focusing on the utilization of whole fruits and devoting to deep processing have become the key to the value chain of pomelo climbing higher.
"The whole fruit can be eaten dry and squeezed to clean a pomelo fruit." Wang Lixia, director of Changshan County Agricultural Characteristic Industry Development Center, said.
Every year, after the fruit falls, the pomelo will produce some natural fruit drop and residual fruit. These small green fruits that were previously discarded are the raw materials used to concoct the Chinese medicinal herb "Qu Citrus Shell". At present, "Qu Fang Shell" has been listed in the 2015 edition of the "Zhejiang Province Traditional Chinese Medicine Processing Specification" and the new "Zhejiang Eight Flavors" authentic Chinese medicinal materials catalog. "Green fruit alone can drive farmers to increase their income by nearly 900 yuan per mu, and 'making something out of nothing' has spawned an industry of more than 100 million yuan."
From planting to deep processing, a series of explorations are making new breakthroughs.
Walking into the workshop of Zhejiang Yuxianggu Investment Management Co., Ltd., the third canning production line is being debugged. "After the official operation, the production capacity will be doubled." Hu Zhimin, the company's production director, said.
In 2021, "Yuzu Xianggu" launched a double pomelo juice drink, which became an Internet celebrity product as soon as it was launched, and the products such as yuzu beer, lactic acid bacteria, and soda developed simultaneously were sold in more than 100 cities across the country.
"Products have been in short supply, and this year's sales will exceed 500 million yuan." Xu Lihua, the company's publicity director, told that the company has built 10,000 mu of pomelo "Gongfu Orchard", "This year's pomelo output is about 2,000 tons, and it will be matched with pomelo to develop double pomelo deep processing products." ”
In 2020, the NFC 100% pomelo juice produced by Zhejiang Aijia Food Co., Ltd. was launched and became a popular seller in supermarkets in Shanghai, Hangzhou and other cities. "After deep processing, the value of a pomelo can be increased by twenty or thirty times." Zhang Gang, vice president of the company, said, "To produce a 330ml bottle of pomelo juice, it is necessary to 'digest' 7 pomelos, which has a direct driving effect on the development of the pomelo industry. ”
From the past "fresh fruit is the largest" to the fruit juice bestseller, "green fruit into medicine"... In just a few years, nearly 30 deep processing enterprises such as Tianzi Fruit Industry, Yuzudu, Zhong Biotechnology, Natural Food, Tiandao Pharmaceutical, and Deming Agriculture have emerged in Changshan, and have successively developed more than 70 products such as double pomelo juice, NFC pomelo juice, pomelo ointment, and grapefruit essential oil, and the proportion of fruit deep processing has increased from 30% to 45%, driving the purchase price of fresh fruits to increase by 70%.
Today, Changshan pomelo is no longer the "wild fruit" it was at the beginning. Wang Lixia said that cross-border integration has made this "golden fruit" bloom with a new charm of industrial ecology.
A series of data can prove that a number of new forms of integration of agriculture, culture and tourism, such as Yuzu Xianggu and Taigongshan Huyu Base, attract more than 500,000 tourists every year; Innovative sales model, Huyu deep processing products have radiated to 37 districted cities in 7 provinces; At the "Rural Logistics U Station", the sales volume of fresh fruit surged from 720,000 in the past to 1.85 million.
Changshan pomelo is a legend in the citrus industry in Quzhou. In the extended industrial chain to continuously upgrade the value chain, the new story of Changshan pomelo continues.
