#Shishuo Shinyu# "Fandust" and "IELTS" were shortlisted for the BWF Best Nomination of the Year

As the year-end finals approach, the annual BWF Best of the Year award is also gaining traction. Today, the BWF announced the nominees for the 2022 Best of the Year awards, and Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan and Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong of the Chinese badminton team were nominated for the Best Combination of the Year.

The 2022 BWF Annual Awards Ceremony still features 8 awards, including Best Male Athlete, Best Female Athlete, Best Combination, Best Improved Athlete, Most Potential Athlete, Best Male Athlete with Disabilities, Best Female Athlete with Disabilities, and Best Disabled Combination. The eight awards will be judged from November 1, 2021 to October 31, 2022, including three high-level tournaments in Indonesia at the end of 2021, the 2021 World Championships in Huelva, and all competitions from the Indian Open in January 2022 to the French Open in October.

China's women's doubles Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan and mixed doubles Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong were nominated for Best Combination. In this selection cycle, the "Fandust" group won two world championships in 2021 and 2022, and the results of the competition were very outstanding, and they also won the German Open, Asian Championship, Indonesia Masters, Malaysia Masters, Danish Open and other 5 tournaments this year; IELTS was selected for this year's top performance at the World Championships and 8 Open Championships.

Competing with "Fanchen" and "IELTS" for the award were Tse Dingfeng/So Weiyi, who won the first-ever world championship gold medal for Malaysia, and the Thai mixed doubles pair Dechabo/Sasiri, who once jumped to No. 1 in the world rankings.

In terms of best male athlete, 2021 World Championship champion Luo Jianyou and 2022 World Championship champion Anselon were both nominated for nominations, and the third finalist was Malaysia's Lee Zijia; Nominated for the Best Female Athlete award are Akane Yamaguchi of Japan, winner of the 2021 and 2022 World Championships, Ahn Zhiying of South Korea and Dai Ziying of Chinese Taipei.

The best progressive athlete nominees are Indonesian men's doubles Adianto/Alfian, Indian men's singles Planoy, South Korean women's doubles Jung Na-eun/Kim Hye-jung; The most promising athletes nominated are Japanese men's singles Koda Naraoka, Indonesian mixed doubles Kusharyanto/Kusumawati, French men's singles Lanier; In terms of Para athlete awards, the Chinese national paralympic badminton team was not nominated because it did not compete abroad after the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

The eight awards will be announced at the BWF Year-End Finals Welcome Dinner on 5 December.
