It is reported that the cases accusing Netanyahu of corruption are mainly the "illegal gift incident" in case 1000 and the "media bribery incident" in case 2000. Lapid wrote to Netanyahu for trying to change state laws and policies to grant special exemptions to wealthy Alnon Mirkan. Mirkan gave Netanyahu hundreds of thousands of shekels in expensive gifts in exchange for Netanyahu opening up to him. Livni accused Netanyahu of trying to pass a law favoring the media outlet YnetNews in exchange for the outlet shifting from attacking him to actively reporting on him. They accuse Netanyahu of undermining his credibility and meeting the basic conditions for becoming prime minister.
