Rupert Grint, born in 1988 in London, England, is a British film and television actor.
His father was a racing souvenir dealer. Grint is the eldest of five siblings. He said his earliest goal in life was to sell ice cream. Grint grew up in Wharton Stone, Hertfordshire, attending Richard Hale School in Hertfordshire.

At school, Grint developed a keen interest in theater. He began performing at school and joined local stage and school troupes. After entering secondary school, he continued to perform in school plays. However, Grint had never acted professionally before the Harry Potter series. At the age of 16, he left school to focus on acting, saying he "didn't really like school that much."

Grint became famous for his role as Ron Weasley, one of the three main characters in the Harry Potter film series. He was cast for the role of Ron at the age of 11, having previously only performed in school plays and local theatre troupes. From 2001 to 2011, he starred in all eight Harry Potter films.
Since 2002, Grint has been working outside of the Harry Potter series, co-starring in The Astronaut. He starred in the 2006 drama Life Driving Lesson and the 2010 feature film Cherry Bomb. Grint collaborated with Bill Nye and Emily Blunt in the comedy Wild Target.
After the Harry Potter series, his first film work was the 2012 anti-war film "White Winter", in which he played a supporting role. In 2013, Grint's film CBGB was released. He also starred in Super Clyde. In October 2013, Grint made his stage debut as Jez Butterworth's The Spell at London's Harold Pinter Theatre. In 2014, he voiced Josh in Postman Pat, and in 2017, he starred in the TV series "Abduction" based on the film of the same name and served as an executive producer. He currently plays Julian Pearce in the TV series The Supernatural Maid.
Personal life
Grint began dating actress Georgia Groome in 2011. The couple gave birth to their daughter in May 2020.
Grint joined Instagram in November 2020 and broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to have 1 million followers on the platform in 4 hours and 1 minute.
He is also an avid football fan and an avid supporter of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
