Elno and the French literary tradition

At the sharing session, Lu Yingfu first positioned Anne Elno from the perspective of literary history. He considered Erno to be a quintessential French writer and French writer. First, she inherited the literary tradition of Rousseau, Hugo, Zola, Camus, Sartre and other writers, and her personal, work and action are a perfect combination of the Trinity; Second, the innovation of writing concepts and writing techniques by French writers in the 20th century are also very evident in Elnault. Elno's fragmented form fits closely with what he represents, both in relation to the writer's personal experience and with the current social reality.

Elnault "Trilogy"

"I was convinced that she loved me very much, but I was aware of an injustice: she sold beans and milk from morning to night every day so that I could sit in the lecture hall and listen to the teacher preach Plato." In Elno's "A Woman's Story", this sentence deeply felt Professor Liang Zhonghe, who said that his research direction happened to be Plato, and he could deeply appreciate that Elno's literature would bring readers a divisive experience.

Contradiction - the peculiarity of Elno's writing

"Contradiction" is one of the characteristics of Elno's work. Lu Yingfu combined the "courage and acumen" in the award speech to illustrate the characteristics of Elno's writing. He argues that Elno's writing has both the courage to analyze and dissect the self, while maintaining an objectivity and calmness, without moving towards a subjective pathos writing. Talking about his reading experience, Lu Yingfu said that "A Man's Position" is like a "prose poem written by my father", which can quietly move readers.

Elno's "A Man's Place"

Anne Ernault was born in 1940 in the Seine-Maritimes, France, and spent her childhood in the small Normandy town of Ivoto. She grew up poor, and her parents ran a small café and grocery store, barely making ends meet. Ernaud first taught in secondary schools, then worked at the French distance education center and continued to write after retirement. She is good at using delicate and sad brushstrokes in terms of society and gender, depicting how poor parents can free themselves and their next generation from difficulties, and objectively reproduce the huge differences in psychology, living habits, interests and hobbies of different social classes in contemporary France.

This upbringing makes Elno's work, between belonging and alienation, betray her parents and upbringing. She once said: "I see myself rarely as an individual, but as the sum of some experience, determined by social, historical, gender, and linguistic factors, and in constant dialogue with the world [past and present]." ”

In Liang's view, the huge difference between the two classes that Elno spanned is a contradiction. He cites Elno's "despair is a luxury" in A Woman's Tale to explain that, on the one hand, Elno is reluctant to stay in a small town in his hometown; On the other hand, after studying to stay in the big city of Paris, you will miss the past. For example, Erno needs to write about his mother over and over again, but this constantly reminds himself of the painful fact that his mother is no longer there.
