Australia revels in the Davis Cup finals!
In the semifinals of the Davis Cup, Australia competed with Croatia for a ticket. Last year's tournament runners-up Croatia beat one of Australia's players, Kokinakis, 6-4 6-3 against main team Čurić to take the first point.
However, Australia's main player De Minar played well, and was completely unafraid against Grand Slam winner Cilic to sweep Cilic 6-2 6-2 to bring back a point and tie Croatia.
The next third is a doubles match, which will determine which team advances to the final. Croatian doubles star McTic/Pavic, a top 10 player in the world and a former world number one and Grand Slam winner, did not play well this time and was won 6-7 (3) 7-5 6-4 by Australia's Thompson/Purcell.
Australia defeated Croatia 2-1 and advanced to the final. But this moment is very exciting for them, because with the victory, Australia is back in the Davis Cup finals after 19 years!
19 years, almost the same time as a young man. In these 19 years, the Australian team has had a tough time, losing three semi-finals, in 2006, 2015 and 2017, but fortunately persevered to the end, and finally the Australian team reached the final for the 48th time in history!
Congratulations to Team Australia!
