"Harbour Middle East came up with a complete design and build proposal for New Jazan Airport, which meets standards and meets GACA (Aviation Authority) requirements by using crushed gravel piles to treat the tarmac, soft soil under taxiways and open areas, as well as the terminal's pile foundation." Lu Er said that according to the design requirements, the new airport will take off and land large aircraft in the future. Therefore, Harbour Middle East's approach was the most suitable for the site conditions of this project. The other is the Shoaiba RO 5 plant, which is part of SWCC (Saline Water Company's grand desalination plan) covering an area of 220,000 square meters, i.e. a new desalination plant using reverse osmosis desalination technology to reach a drinking water production capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per day. In line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, this important desalination plant will provide fresh water to residents and establish a development zone in Jeddah's southern region. The challenges of the project were poor ground conditions and tight construction timelines. Lu Er said that the technology provided by the company for this purpose is to use crushed stone piles to increase the bearing capacity of the land, so that civil works can be carried out safely.
