Yesterday, the kitchen at Buckingham Palace also made South Africa's national flower, Protea, made with sugar and food coloring for the state dinner.
Preparations for the state banquet began more than a year in advance, but the final "construction" of the state dinner table began only about five days before the arrival of the visiting head of state.
The operating department of Buckingham Palace, the master of the family department, took the primary responsibility for ensuring that the banquet went as planned.
After the banquet table is put together and the decorative display is delivered, the finishing touches are added after the packaging is opened and placed in place. The measurement distance for the placement setting is exactly 45 cm. Meanwhile, preparations in the Buckingham Palace kitchen are as close as possible to the start of the event – each dish is handmade from scratch.
Every aspect of the state dinner is specially inspected and approved, and the table is also personally determined. It is expected that about 170 guests will require 1,700 pieces of cutlery, all arranged using a ruler, for accurate spacing measurements.
Earlier today, Charles III arranged an honor guard for the President of South Africa before travelling with him in a golden carriage to Buckingham Palace as he made his first state visit as King.
William and Kate were attending the event for the first time, traveling to a luxury hotel in central London to meet Cyril Ramaphosa and accompany him to the Horse Guards parade to begin the ceremonial welcome.
There, Charles and the Princess shook hands with the President at the Royal Pavilion before the grand state dinner. More than 1,000 soldiers and more than 230 horses attended the ceremony, and two infantry guards from the Cold Creek Guard of Company 7 awaited on the parade ground.
Nearby, dressed in glittering cuirassiers and feathered helmets were the Monarch Guards of the Royal Cavalry Cavalry Regiment – Lifeguards, Blues and Royal, commanded by Major Robert Pereira of the Blues and Royals.
Mr Ramaphosa then marched along the mall with Charles and Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Upon arrival at the Royal Palace, they encountered a second honor guard discovered by the 1st Battalion of the Cold Creek Guards, while at the Tower of London, the Honorary Artillery Company fired a 62-fired salute to commemorate the president's visit.
After a private lunch at the palace, the king invited Monsieur Ramaphosa to view an exhibition of royal collections related to South Africa at the gallery.
The president then visited Westminster Abbey, where he would lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and visited the memorial stone of South African President Nelson Mandela between 1994 and 1999.
