The starting point of fate
When Christian was 5 years old, he personally fed a young pigeon, and that was the very beginning, planting a small seed of passion. At the age of 12, he started raising pigeons on his grandparents' farm, which ignited his passion, and since then, despite his parents' permission to race, Christian has kept pigeons while studying seriously. After graduating from mechanical engineering in 1995, the 23-year-old finally competed in his first race, "I still remember my first race, it was like yesterday." Christian's eyes radiated like a child. For him at that time, participating in Barcelona had always been his dream.
Own loft
In 2002, Christian married and moved with his wife to their current location, less than 20 kilometers west of the capital, Brussel. The house and loft were built at that time, and Christian bought a new breeder, wanting to compare the long distances and look for Van Brianna's pigeons in the Netherlands and Belgium. He was brought in from various well-known loft owners of Van Briana, such as Belgium-Giselbrecht, Jolijn, Luke. Luc Wiels Wells; Holland-Yang. Van Van Engelen, et al. At first he raced with only cocks, but after flying well in 2007, it was wrong the following year. With his grades up and down, he kept discussing with his friends what to do and looking for better ways to raise them. All-natural cultivation

In 2012, Christian started racing with the all-natural method, flying for an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon, and his results began to improve, and he also started racing with hens.
In 2014, he won 8 long~ultra-long distance races and was among the top 100 in the country. The results are much better than before!

Pigeons
Racing team, 1 year old + old birds, a total of 65 males and females. Christian does not have many pigeons and because he specialises in ultra-long distance racing, he produces young birds much later than others. Fanciers are usually paired around Christmas and New Year, but Christian only started the first round in March, and in 2022 it was only a month earlier in February. 150 young birds competed.
Balance leisure and work
Christian works for GEA, one of the world's top 500 companies, where he is a product manufacturing manager with a team of 35 people, making tablet and pill compression machines. He speaks very politely, treats people kindly, and always keeps a smile, and the family and his two daughters have a harmonious atmosphere. Because his wife and daughters were not interested in raising pigeons, Christian took care of almost all the pigeon loft and big things. He usually gets up at 5:30 a.m. and goes to the loft and then goes to work at 6:30. When I get home from work, the first thing I do is run the loft. In winter, he only goes to the loft once in the morning and does nothing necessary.
Pure pursuit of race fun
In winter, Christian sets up all the pigeons for their summer races. Which groups and which competitions to participate in are planned with a computer. Summer is coming according to plan. Because of the natural system, all pigeons are raced in pairs, and under these conditions, they can only compete in 2 ultra-long races per season. As a result, Christian did not have a chance to win the KBDB ace pigeon prize. Because of the long distance old pigeons, they had to collect 3 races.
"It's a pity, but it's okay." Christian, who loves to compete, will continue to move forward on the road to Barcelona!
And Christian, who is very busy at work, is unwilling to give up the fun of the game no matter how busy he is, and takes a delicate balance between work and leisure. According to his competition method and scale, he is quite good in terms of results, and he has won the top 100 national competitions every year.
