This is how Poles came to Georgia in the 18th and 19th centuries, many of them settled there and started a new life. At the same time, Georgia also established relations with Russia, which, instead of promising to protect Turkey and Iran, carried out ... Unceremoniously annexed the lands of Georgia. The Georgians also organized an uprising, but it ended in failure.

As usually happens in military operations, expulsions include intellectuals first and foremost. So the great Polish architects, cartographers, road and railway builders, doctors, botanists and writers all went to Georgia. But they didn't immediately find themselves in a new environment. We asked Georgian enthusiasts, the owner of the Tamada Tour, who for many years has been organizing trips of Poles to Georgia, learning about the history of Polish-Georgian relations and breaking through all publications on this topic.

When the tired Poles arrived at this place, they made a depressed impression. Some consider it hell on earth, and its location is absolutely eye-catching. However, the attitude of exiles towards the Caucasus differed, largely depending on the army to which they were assigned to the tsar and the role given to them as a soldier - by far the most difficult were those who were sent directly to the battlefield.

Interestingly, the Georgians were also sent to Poland as punishment, in which they were also actively involved. The Georgian diaspora is spread across the Polish cities of Bygdoszcz, Aleksandrów Kujawski and Ciechocinek, where you can find remains of Georgian-style architecture.

Due to the history of the Polish and Georgian states, in the 19th century their common destinies were more closely intertwined than at any time in history. However, the tragic beginning of Poland's relations with the Caucasus created a starter for the development of friendship on top of the nation and achieved unprecedented achievements in the fields of diplomacy, trade, science, culture, literature and even nature. He also maintained friendly relations to this day.

President Lech Kaczynski's response to the events of 2008 has undoubtedly helped to perpetuate those events. It is the responsibility of the international community to resist Russia's renewed pursuit of imperialism. Georgians still remember these words to this day, commemorating Maria and Lech Kaczynski with monuments, portraits and the names of streets and squares.

How can Polish-Georgian relations be described? Polish products are highly valued here, and if someone says they have something "Made in Poland", it means high quality. It is easier to do business in Georgia, which is why many Poles pack their bags and travel to the Caucasus paradise to fulfill their dreams of starting their own business.

Although Georgians outperform all other countries in the world in terms of hospitality, they are just as eager to compete and celebrate as the Poles. Drinking with Georgians is a real pleasure: because of bravery, ideals, history, Georgian anarchy and the fact that Poles and Georgians never bowed to anyone, to any invaders.
